One stupid dog
We're babysitting my mom's best friend's dog. Oy. He's so annoying. In case you're curious, he's an old Scottish Terrier and acts (and shakes and whines, good Lord) like a junkie when his crack is gone.
I should feel pity for him. But I don't. He made last night a living hell. Can't wait to see him out of the house.
It's not that I hate dogs. It's dogs who hate me. Particularly small dogs, because I've never had a problem or lots of barking from big ones -but I was afraid of the biggums when I was younger; there are some races that still scare me. There are dogs I find cute, of course. But I'm the kind of person who likes to watch animal documentaries and see photos on a National Geographic magazine, but then freaks out when she sees animals in person. I'm not suited for pets at all. I can't even carry the cat. Heck, I can't even carry the chipmunk. What am I saying, I wasn't able to pick up the small turtles we had when I was a kid. They'd kick me in my fingers while I was holding them. Animals can so sense my embarrassment around them.
There was an incident at a pet zoo with a goat when I was 12. Nnnnnnnnnnnng. I swear it was chasing me for no reason! I had no food in my hands!
And they want me to have children? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I don't even have the patience for bearing five minutes of a terrier begging for food or who knows what.
Wait, I can't even water a plant with regularity. It took me days to realize the Christmas cactus was in bloom.

You know, I've been rereading volume 5. And they do make a lot (a LOT!) of emphasis on the fact Ayame transforms by himself, with no need of hugs, when the weather is too cold. Actually, both transformations during his first appearance are *because* of low temperatures. On the same day, also.
And in chapter... uh, the last one he appeared, yes, when Yuki asks him if Mine knows about the curse, he changes the subject immediately.
Does Takaya really expect me to believe Mine hasn't seen Aya suddenly turn into a snake in a cold winter day? Even several times a day, if it's freezing out there.
He doesn't even need to tell her the truth. She doesn't even need to hug him or bump into him. Just hanging out with Ayame outdoors is enough risk to get his secret. Not even a romantic relationship is required, I mean. Easiest. Juunishi transformation. Ever.
And this basic fact NEEDS to be fanficced, if it hasn't been already.
And I really need to make Furuba icons.
