[Okami] Touch of the brush
Title: Touch of the brush
Day/Theme: April 29: In the garden, like an immortal
Series: Okami
Character/Pairing: Amaterasu, pre-game
Rating: G
Genre: Happy fluff?
Notes: I think I'll have to stick to a grammatical gender when it comes to writing Ammy. I'm picking female out of habit, and because it looks better. Also, see how I never make references to specific body parts; whether it's a wolf or a humanoid form, it's up to you to decide :)

It was that time of the year again.
She went to the borders of the Celestial Plain, as she used to do on that date. Then she summoned Itegami back; its job is done for that year, in the land of mortals. The playful triumvirate of Hanagami bided her good-bye with a silly dance. She wished she could go with them, but spring had to start in her domains as well.
Amaterasu ran back to her palace’s garden, and dipped her Celestial Brush in the purest ink. She breathed, and the process began.
She twirled around faster, a white and red blur leaving trails of black. With every step, a tree regained its leaves. By the end of the circular movement of the brush, it was in bloom.
She could hear laughter and praise from the Celestials who flew above her head; they could never get enough of that annual show. Over the rooftop, not bothering to hide, the foreign boy from the moon was babbling things in his native tongue and clapping loudly. She paid attention to neither of them, though, as she was enraptured in the spirit of flowers and restoration.
As the last tree on the Plain was awakened, Okami Amaterasu rested on the greenest of grass. She was satisfied, and exhausted, and had no ink left to use. She rolled on her left side and fell asleep, only touched by sunshine and rebellious cherry blossom petals.
