showing a bit more of his personality in canon wouldn't really kill off all the mystery, I think
I don't know, I like that we have to figure out his character from little bits and extrapolation. There are enough hints to get a pretty good idea of what he was like without ever having to show it.

But now that you mention it, I would have liked to see a happier scene with him and the Guardians.
