First post, yahoo!
This journal is semipublic. That means 80-90% of the fandom posts and the randomness are available for everyone to see. What's filtered? Some whinings, things I don't want everyone to read like real life emo, or longish posts in Spanish because that's rude to my non-Hispanoamerican readers. So basically, you're not missing anything.
I'm not a native English speaker, of course. I don't use that excuse to have bad grammar and spelling, since I hate that excuse with a passion and I adore languages. I'm in the process of self-learning English, which I started ever since I could read. I love learning, and I'm a perfectionist. I work hard to make myself readable, but sometimes it's just not enough or I'm in a hurry. So if you see a typo or just nasty grammar, please correct me. You're doing me a favor, really.
About friending policies, mmmm... I don't mind having lurkers, so anyone can friend me at will as long as they're not trolls. I normally don't friend back. I'm a shy person, but also I'm rather picky. When I friend someone, it's because either a) I know them from somewhere else besides my journal, and/or b) I'm really fond of the person, I think I have a lot of common with them, and I occasionally enjoy reading them back. I don't see why I should add someone who comments a lot in my posts to my flist. I can be convinced over time, but if I can't love their journal I won't read it even though the person might be adorable. I normally don't read back people who 1) 3/4 or more of their posts are in a language I don't understand, 2) just ramble about their daily life -"dear diary" kind of stuff about someone I barely know is too surreal to me-, 3) don't feel like they have too much in common with me or sport pet peeves of mine in a regular basis.
In short, I friend people back when I want to and how I want to. I know I sound arrogant, and probably I am. But I still like to see people with different opinions than mine commenting on my journal entries ^_^ Just because you're not on that friends list below you shouldn't just lurk and never talk to me.
