Alabasta spam: now with video

Jetix channel loved/hated me, and had broadcasted several episodes of the Alabasta arc of One Piece yesterday morning, and some of the afterwards fillers. I learned something: this arc owns me so much, even a shitty dub with horrible accents can move me to tears.

I fucking love this story, people.

One day, when I have actual time, I'll make a post comparing Clow country to the Alabasta kingdom and how much it sucks by comparison. One day...

But meanwhile, I'll spam with videos. There are no heavy spoilers for the outcome of the saga, so anyone with zero knowledge about One Piece can watch these while YT hasn't deleted them, just for the pretty.

This. This is just THE MOST ABSOLUTE WIN. A fansub group made this AMV simulating to be a movie trailer of the whole story. It leaves you completely breathless. I can't even describe it, you have to watch it.

Speaking of movies, this is the trailer for movie 8, which is a remake of Alabasta. I was told the movie was mediocre, butchered, and had bad animation, which makes me so sad.

This clip is the 7th ending of the TV show. It's really mellow and pretty, and has Vivi angsting over her country and the people she loves. I find awesome they had the profiles of daddy Cobra, and Igaram, and Chaka and Pell, because in any other series they would've forgotten about adult characters who aren't villains. And still, please notice the shameless Kohza/Vivi pushing! That is SO not just my imagination, his head is larger than the others and then they add their children silhouettes on top of it. Squee! I also love how the strawhats are so cute and pat her and give her strength to move on.

It's ashame about the movie because it is such a great arc. But I guess when you try to condense so many episodes into one movie things are going to be lost.

There is some good Alabasta merchandise out now because of the movie though.

I can understand the plot, but I'm boggling over the fact all the reviews agree the animation wasn't top-notch. That's extremely weird, because shouldn't movies look better than the TV show?

I hope the merch comes around here, even if it's just the keyrings with SD drawings. It would be awesome. Although my dream OP merchandise goody already exists, and it's a plushie pack with a Chopper, a Carue, and a kung-fu dudong. Sadly, it costs around 50 bucks... Ouch.

What is Bleach?

Dude, I want to share the volumes from Laboon to the escape to Alabasta, and force people who's too lazy/busy to read the whole manga to check at least only those. Except for Smoker and Tashigi's presences, I think you don't really need to explain anything besides the main plot (aka bunch of young yet strong guys who join a laid-back kid who wants to be the pirate king and get a kickass treasure) to understand Alabasta, if you start reading from the moment they enter the Grand Line. I mean, it helps to understand them better, and Nami and Sanji's stories are killers, but anyone can go back later and see them.

It can be done, y/n? It's just like 13 volumes, and so many sub-arcs happen it doesn't drag.
