Aaaaand the FMA countdown is on!

Today's been an awful day for me, continuing with last night's woes, and I foresee more headdesking today at lab hours. But meanwhile, here's something intriguing:

Sonic the hedgehog for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, for real?!

And no, it's not a fake or manips! This is the official site! Now, I'm not a Sonic fan, but I think this is neat. And it'll make a lot of people happy, because I had seen rumors and whinings for months.

I wonder what classic non-Nintendo cameo is next. First series' Megaman would be awesome for a Smash Bros, I think...

I used to love Sonic (back when he was a Sega Genesis exclusive). He was one of my first obsessions. But I haven't played video games in years. In fact the only system I ever owned was a Sega Genesis. :D

About time they announced that. Probably the worst kept secret ever once they anounced Mario and Sonic Olympic games. Asside from the green eyes, he looks like old school Sonic... which would be good because it's only really people who were gaming back during the SNES vs. Genesis days that always wanted to see a fight to the death between Mario and Sonic.

You're right, now all we need is old school Megaman and we'll be all set.

I was on the Nintendo-Mario side of the road in the old times XD But I had played some Sonic games on PC and it was fun! The 3D games look really lame, though, but then again I haven't been able to get into 3D Mario games either O.o

I had seen people going "OMG I WANT SONIC!" and doing manips ever since the Solid Snake news came out, so it's not like the fans started wanting it with the Olympics game (it just started the heavy rumors that it HAD to be true, of course).

That's the beauty of it, how we +20 year-olds can recreate ye olde Mario vs. Sonic showdown :D

LOLOL! Dude, but it looks so awesome, doing everything with the stylus~~ And there's also the timer of doom, bringing the I'm-not-going-to-make-it anxiety at least you didn't get to experience with Majora's Mask! (actually, it's even worse IMO x_x). Anyway, I've already put 40 euros away to get my copy :3

If you need the backstory told in a more friendly way than the Wiki, I can sum you The Wind Waker up on YIM before playing the game ^_^ *hasn't finished it, but spoiled herself the ending OMG Tetra/Link*

Actually the Rockman series were first released on Nintendo :O

I mean non-Nintendo developed, unlike Mario or Zelda or Metroid or Star Fox or Kirby or Pokémon. Metal Gear Solid is by Konami, Sonic by Sega obviously. Megaman/Rockman is by Capcom, of course. What I meant is that in the previous SSB games, they only had Nintendo-only franchise characters. In Brawl, it doesn't matter as long as they had a game or more for a Nintendo console and the developers let them (which explains Solid Snake and Sonic, LOL). So Megaman, be it old-school or X series, would be 100% plausible if Capcom gives them the license.

Oh yeah, heck, people were asking for it back on the first game! They were rumors he was playable in the second... (lies, of course) The olympic game just sealed the deal. (I actually recall an interview with a Sega rep that said they'd love for Sonic to be in Smash Bros. sometime after this game was announced.)

I was on the Sega side back in the day. *sigh* I miss good sonic games.
