Update on the infernal machine

I mentioned once that Larg (the desktop PC) was freezing a lot and sometimes even rebooting. Not that I'm needing it that much as I'm working on my lab assignments on the laptop (Soel) for the last couple of weeks, but I have files in there and the printer can't be plugged to the laptop. Well, after today's third time of pushing the reset button, a graphic card driver error pops up.

And attention. Because it somehow reverted the system to (drumroll, please) 640x480 resolution and 8-bit color.

Let me tell you. That's one FUGLY thing to witness D:

I'll look for the driver tomorrow and try to reinstall it. If I'm lucky, that was the thing provoking the Windows shenanigans. If I'm unlucky, I'll enter with a Linux live CD, copy my stuff unto an external hard disk, and then proceed to ye olde "format c:". I hope I don't have to submit myself to that, though.

...

Let's try something fun here.

Give me two characters from different fandoms you know I'm familiar with, and I'll give you a dialog happening between the two of them. Without justifying how the crossover would work, how their worlds clashed, or how they could even meet each other. Just a silly crossover conversation with no backstory, for fun.

For simplicity's sake, let's take CLAMP fandoms separately. And here's an example I need out of my chest and no one will ask for.

"You know how they say that a prophet shouldn't get involved or take sides? They don't know what they're saying, baby. Sometimes you get visions of the future that depend on you taking the lead, pushing the protagonists, telling others about what you saw, setting up devices..."

"Oh sure, I know exactly what you're talking about!" The dark one grinned. "A couple of generations ago, I left the sword Yamato in the hands of the Yasha clan, just so the king from the Six Stars can yield it."

"...Yamato?"

"Yeah, that's the name they gave it. Too bad the Yasha clan will be exterminated," he sighed. "They were such nice folks, didn't even judge me..."

The blond one nodded in melancholy.

"The Celestials weren't bad, either. Maybe the word is just cursed, like us. At least you have time to cope with the idea of those massacres. These things toughen you up! When the time comes, you won't even flinch at unfair deaths or to human sacrifices."

"Not even my own, Ushiwaka?" The dark man grinned, but his purple eyes had a grim expression.

"Will it be worth it? In your opinion, at least?"

Kujaku thought for a minute.

"It definitely will. Restoration must happen through chaos and destruction, but I want the good side of the child to live and love. My existence then may finally have a purpose, perhaps..."

"I reckon it's a resolve as good as any, baby."

"Besides, I think I'll get to really live as soon as all the players are born -or reborn!- and gathered. When the wheel of fate actually turns around at full speed, you know what I mean?"

"Indeed I do! Waiting for them to dance is so boring."

"I'll make it worth it, you know," Kujaku winked. "I so will follow them around, and annoy them, and push their buttons so much! I'm going to have fun, and I can't wait."

Ushiwaka couldn't help but burst in laughter.

"Kujaku-kun, I was planning to do exactly that. And mon ami, I'm pretty excited for that as well."

Kujaku chuckled as well. Always look at the bright side, right?

I think this explains why I never found Waka as annoying as other Okami gamers. With guys like Kujaku and Mong Ryong in my CLAMP experience...
