Kujikenaikara my heart~~
And even more stuff about Slayers Revolution comes out. I honestly, HONESTLY must do a marathon of the previous seasons because I'm psyched and need a fix. And I listen to old openings and endings, and I stare at illustrations and want to make more icons.
This series, it defined my adolescence along with Rurouni Kenshin. But what I loved the most about it at the time, besides the magic and the ka-booms and the slapstick comedy, was the fact it was my first fantasy series with a female character that was this strong and it blew my mind. Even today, Lina Inverse is one of those top female characters in my list, even if she's so brash and morally dubious. No, actually, BECAUSE she's brash and morally dubious. She has traits (particularly flaws) you see in male characters a lot, but rarely in a female protagonist, and yet she doesn't lose touch with her femininity (although sometimes, especially when eating, you have to wonder). And yet, the show doesn't quite glorify her flaws, so even if she's so powerful she never hits me as a "canon Mary Sue", even when everything revolves around her since she's the lead character and so powerful. She was so cool, being this short girl with a bad temper blowing shit up and living adventures, sometimes being a greedy mercenary/thief and sometimes saving the world. I really wish there were more female leads who are cooler or as cool as the male cast.
Perhaps, Slayers is why I can't get into RPGs that easily. No Final Fantasy party can compare to Lina's party in my mind. They're all kickass and adorable. And I don't have to wait till they get gazillion XP points to go to the final boss, either. Heh.
Also, Slayers got me into a "kink" on (more like a kind of) pairings I rarely see happening in other series: a woman and a man traveling together -while not entirely BEING together- endlessly in a fantasy setting (sci-fi not so much, and maybe it's why I never shipped strongly in Doctor Who). Lina/Gourry were my first. I can only think of two couples who ended up in a similar fashion in the fandoms I've checked out: the leads in Shin Shunkaden (Chun Hyang/Mong Ryong) and Schmendrick/Molly post-The Last Unicorn. When I used to ship Kurogane and Fay, I bundled them into a m/m variation of this, but now I don't want to include them. Seriously, I adored L/G from the beginning. Probably it's too obvious to most of you or would rather ship something less prominent/canon (sure, I do ship Zel/Amelia as well). But personal preferences aside, and I understand disliking a main character too well, I can't fathom to think how some people never saw L/G coming until Next. Did they skipped the first season's ending all the time?
Dude... they're practically MARRIED there. Now THIS is a canon anvil. I start to wonder if Slayers fandom in their wank ages was like HP fandom or Kataang vs. Zutara right now. I think I don't want to know, but I'll still LMAO if there's new wank for Revolution UST.
...Why am I ranting about Slayers? What's with the tl;dr?Why aren't I lj-cutting this? Why aren't there versions of the OP/ED videos with no credits on them besides VHS-quality Latino Spanish subs? Why do I keep asking questions to myself?

I think most Slayers fans are adult now (not that there won't be new fans) so maybe people will be more mature. Although that being said a lot of times adults are the real wankers.
And while Zelgadis/Amelia are my favorite pairing I always liked Lina/Gourry. I need to watch my NEXT DVDS I bought. I just haven't had a chance because of school. :/

Oh, and the most prominent wankers in HP fandom (the BNF Harmonians, the Snapewives, the extreme Slytherin batshit people, Ms. Scribe, Cassie Claire and her posse) ARE adults. I don't think there's a guarantee the old-school fans will STFU and enjoy the shiny.

So very word! Even today Lina's my favourite main character of an ensemble cast. She's so kickass! And I love the whole group too ^^ I adore Zel/Amelia as well ♥ L/G is one of the ship which is just there, unedeniable, a bit like Aang/Katara but which I don't really ship although they do have their cute moments ^^
I'm pretty sure slayers had shipping wank, yes XD

XD No sé. Es, simplemente, especial.

Y el party es awesome. Y Lina también es uno de mis personajes favoritos.
Ahora me dieron ganas de volver a verla...

I actually went and checked Fandom Wank's memories, but I guess the wank was too old for Journalfen since I didn't see any monumental thing. But you know, it IS true that L/G = Kataang = "Heron" (except I'm pretty much neutral to those two) and Lina/Zel = Zutara = "Harmony". From the look of the tales I've heard about it, both sides were probably equally annoying and embarrassing fellow shippers who were sane.
