Have duckies or something

Agasfdhsfafad, studying has been eating my week! Can it be Thursday afternoon now? Not only has it been very Murphy's Laws in general, but I've had no energy to even reply to most things... I feel like a lousy LJ-friend.

- I feel like a hypocrite because I usually roll my eyes when people here whine about something being in English only (game, TV series, fansubs, so on). And every time I discover that the main bibliography item the professor used for a course is a book that's only in English, I wince in pain. I love reading stuff in English, sure, but studying technical -or even worse, mathematical- shit in something other than my native language can get fucking slow. Especially because we Spanish speakers tend to translate terms differently (ask me about library vs. librería) and then I can't recognize the idea in the original text at first glance.

- Oh, and I actually have plotbunnies for fanfic, precisely when I'm unable to sit down and write them. Could it be? Perhaps I can break my writer's block and overall cowardice? Or will this feeling disappear with free time once more? Of course, most of them are around kids and a now dead school teacher because I roll in mysterious, genfic ways. I blame Tsuioku no Jade flashbacks.

- Suspicious new Zelda image. Hmmmm. I hope she really IS Master Sword, there's not enough cracky anthropomorphism in Nintendo games.

- I'm too lazy to open Photoshop and do that wallpaper meme, so instead...

The problem with LiveJournal/Dreamwidth/etc. is that we think we're close, but really, we know nothing about each other.

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me, something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about, or something you've always been curious about but have never asked, or something completely silly that you'd like me to answer for kicks. No limits on the range of questions, either: ask me anything you want to know about, whether it's a fannish opinion or a question about a project of mine or trivia about my real life or my thoughts on events in the offline world.

Ask away.

Well I don't think you are a hypocrite because there is a big difference between fandom related stuff and research literature.

But anyways for the question how do you feel living in Spain instead of the place where you grew up (I am pretty sure I remember you didn't grow up in Spain).

And what were some of your favorite TV series (animated or otherwise) as a kid?

I still feel like a brat: anyone studying abroad has to read more bibliography in a (for them) foreign language.

I feel depressed. The weather is too different, I have no friends IRL, and people in my city is rude in general. But I'd rather not to move out again, and at least I can go out and I can buy geeky stuff easier/safer than in my country.

Uh, I watched too much TV when I was little so I had too many favorites. There was a lot of Disney animation series and Warner Bros cartoons, but that was just a few. I got more into live-action on my preteens, and into anime on my teens.

Yo también! Es que ya no puedo no-verlo y sería de verdad original que fuera la Master Sword :(

I'm a lousier LJ friend. I haven't gotten to reply on anything you've posted since I had the pleasure of friending you. Murphy's Law's been running rampant in my life, too. Try learning a relative died moments before taking a math exam. DX

What fandoms do you support in Phoenix Wright fic in general? A rather shallow question, yes, so throw in whatever commentary on them you feel like. :)

What's your favorite American movie?

Don't worry about it :o And I'm sorry about your relative :(

What do you mean with fandoms? Like, pairings and stuff? Or characters? Or do you mean Phoenix Wright games vs. Apollo Justice vs. Ace Attorney Investigations?

Well, I don't have a favorite movie, regardless of nationality. I'm really odd in that I can make a list of other favorites (favorite games, favorite anime, favorite manga, favorite books, favorite TV shows, temporary favorite musicians), but I'm incapable to enumerate a list of films -at least non-animated films- I like. Even when I try, I only get old childhood movies that I don't think I'd even like to rewatch. I can't even remember what's the last non-TV-show DVD I've bought! I guess I'm not that enthusiastic over media that takes less than three hours to enjoy.

That girl/thing/sword-in-disguise looks strangely like the queen of the Great Fairies from The Wind Waker. See, she has the same grey skin, blank eyes, and hairstyle (or a very similar one, at least). Do you know where the image originally came from?

Speaking of which, for the meme: were you ever disturbed or frightened by something you saw in a video game?

Yeah, she does. Although I like the fantheory about the Master Sword better because... we've had enough fairies as sidekicks/helpers already. Meanwhile, no game has given much background on the sword, beyond "pick it up there after getting this and that".

Ah, the image was never shown on E3, but it was uploaded in the Nintendo server in the press kit area. Some people had the password from a previous year and got it from there. I saw it on Kotaku.com.

Hmmm, let's see... I'm not really a hardcore gamer so I have little to choose from. And while I'm not easily scared by horror movies, I don't play horror games or FPSs because I get too paranoid with unknown shit lurking around. So, no Silent Hill for me! I tend to play (sort of) happy, cracky games with button mashing! :D So I guess the creepiest I've had was the Well and Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time, and lots of the weirdness of Majora's Mask. I also get pretty nervous with Shadow of the Colossus; while they're not really that scary, I feel like they're going to squash me before I can climb on them which is why I haven't gone past the second one.
