Wait, when was this info released?
Apparently, I still won't shut up about this spawn.
The game takes place three months after the events of Ōkami.
Makes sense. And I say this without sarcasm, actually. Remember: it makes sense.
In spite of Amaterasu's battle against the Dark Lord Yami, which would kill all the demons in Nippon, they return.
What, the same ones?! Sure, throw a puppy to Orochi. Or better yet, Ninetails.
The Konohana Sprite Sakuya, a character from the original Ōkami, summons the Sun God Amaterasu, but instead finds Chibiterasu, who looks like a young version of Amaterasu.
And girl, was that disappointing. Cute, but not as planned.
It is speculated that Chibiterasu could be Amaterasu's son, but Motohide Eshiro, the game's producer, said that this will remain a secret for now.
OMG U GAIS WE'RE SO MYSTERIOUS!!1 Or maybe you were still making up shit when they asked you. *really dislikes that guy*
He added that he is a "young form of existence" and not fully grown; he retains several abilities of Amaterasu, including the Celestial Brush, but lacks her power, which will be reflected in the plot and gameplay.
It was the only excuse we could think of for the puppy to relearn brush techniques.
Chibiterasu's partners will be incorporated into the main plot as well. One of the partners that accompanies Chibiterasu is Nushi, the son of Susano and Kushi, two characters from Ōkami. He was born after the events of Ōkami, and appeared in the ending of the first game.
No, this really ugly kid who actually looks like his father appeared in the ending. The character got retconned and turned into a cute boy, remember? No one can be sympathetic and moe for Susano Jr.!
They did not reveal how Susano had a son in such a short amount of time, but stated that they would reveal it eventually.
What do you mean? It MAKES sense in canon! Like, am I the only one who noticed that the sense of time in Okami is not our sense of time? "One hundred years ago" means several generations ago, and "over two hundred years ago" is already the age of legends. So, of course a baby can be born and grow to that size (like, an equivalent of our 5 years, I guess) in just three months. I swear, if that hack of Eshiro actually comes up with an unneeded excuse, then it really means he didn't get the original game's canon at all! Why are they letting this drooling idiot near my favorite CAPCOM franchises?!
I wish I could be like the rest of the non-existent fandom and tune it off and just squee at the baby wolf, but I obviously can't. Let it. Go.
Speaking of mythology butchery:
pizcadeambrosia is a journal I made for my modern-times mythological fiction. It's in Spanish, though. I don't think there's anyone left here who'd be curious, but just in case.
