Good analogy. Just going to buy a newspaper a block from your house is a fucking adventure in Caracas, so I'm surprised the worst thing that happened to me in 20 years was a pickpocket taking my wallet at the metro.
Welll, to be completely honest with you, this is an extremely bad time to move to Spain. This is one of the few EU countries that hasn't moved on crisis-wise (they keep saying we're the next Greece or Ireland). Right now, about half of the population is unemployed and eating up from government support plans. So how well you do will pretty much depend on what you want to do and sheer luck to keep the job itself. Even minimal wage things like McDonald's employee or supermarket cashier are in high demand. My stepdad had a job in a gas station that a relative got him by palanca, and they're still firing him this month over a petty thing. Imagine jobs for people with degree.
I-I'm really sorry to be saying something this pessimistic, but the situation really is this made of fail. If you're coming here to study, it should be easy to get most or all credits validated, and it is cheaper than a private Venezuelan university. But the work aspect is a nightmare either way.
