What city are you guys going to? An option that my family is considering is living in a place with a lot of hotels and tourism, because a) there are more small jobs there, b) tourism from drunken British people might be the only things that won't ever be that affected, and c) speaking English helps a lot for those places (the stereotype is true: most Spaniards can't speak or pronounce English for shit). Besides Madrid and Barcelona, the Valencian region -particularly in Benidorm- or the Baleares islands might be good. And the plus side is they're beach zones so it's almost tropical. Sadly, it's just a theory of my mom, so I have no idea how easy/hard it would be living and getting a job there.
