How are we doing now
Okay, first of all, the new Pokémon centers with markets and GTS inside? GREATEST THING EVER. Only in Pokamérica! Really, that one thing felt somehow very... USA. LOL Unova.
The main character's mom looks a lot like the female MC. You'll age well, Touko/Whitlea/Hilda/whatever your name is.
I fucking love Professor Juniper. She seems so enthusiast! And one of the big selling points of this game to me was FEMALE PROFESSOR, so I'm glad she's a sweetheart. Some of the male professors seem kinda aloof, so it's cool to see a :D/ sprite in her.
Juniper: So the reason why I'm giving you your Pokémon...
Cheren: It's the Pokédex, isn't it?
Juniper: ...always a smartass, but yeah!
And let it be known, Cheren is AWESOME. He's smart, he's cocky, he's smooth. I thought he could be annoying, but he's not. I mean, for a childhood frienemy in Pokémon he's quite nice in his rivalry.
Bianca is so, so fluffy and impulsive. She's pretty cute so far, but I was expecting that. Looking forward to see more of her, since so far I've stumbled more into Cheren.
But of course, the worst part about having not one, not two, but THREE rivals: you never get a fucking break. To the point I see a sprite of them and I backpedal to heal before being poked by them. Sometimes they just want to talk or give me something, and I feel like an idiot ffff.
Speaking of which, N sounds more batshit than he should :'DDDDDD
What else? Oh, there are actually universities in Pokéworld?! Oh well, Fennel is also really cute. And I like how recently in the game, it's women who improve the storage system. In Unova it's also a girl. Yay for females in my field!
And speaking of cool researching females, gotta recognize Lenore. That lady is FIERCE. You see her character design with the afro and the apron and it's easy to fear the kind of shit they'll be pulling on a POC woman. But no, no, she's actually so fucking cool! She studies fossils and makes you go on a scavenger hunt on the museum's library involving books. And her husband is such a fanboy in the Spanish translation, it's actually so sweet ("And here is the gym, whose leader is cool and beautiful. AND SHE'S MY WIFE.")
...Incidentally, she kicked my ass and now I'm grinding XD Fucking Normal-type gyms, I have a history with them.
What else? I can't believe the Team Plasma grunts are stealing from little children. Then again, I was battling kindergarteners in their own daycare, so it's not like I can cast a stone. And then I felt no sympathy for the brats because MCs can't get one Pokémon until they're at least 10, so.
And that part where a Musharna scares the shit out of two grunts by transforming into Ghetsis was HILARIOUS. Which goes to show the kind of horrible boss he is, really.
