1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I love her, she's been my favorite character in her fandom since case 1-5. I like that she's very passionate and quirky about her geekdom and loyal to the ones she loves without questioning. Plus, she's unintentional funny.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
She's secondary, but she's showed up in every Gyakuten series so far.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Aaaaaactually, grown up Ema is pretty much me, except for the polar opposite taste in men |D And it's not about relating since I don't have older siblings, but I cried like a baby over her story and Lana's. If it wasn't for that case, I wouldn't continued the games TBH.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I DON'T, IT'S TERRIBLE.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I OTP-ship her with Klavier because they have the potential to be snarky and I like those kind of pairings. If I cared more about AAI I'd ship her with Kay too. About platonic relationships, obviously her love for Lana and her respect for Phoenix and how she interacts with pretty much everyone she knows.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
A little less bitterness, a little more cheerful scientist.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
BFFing like a boss 8D

I believe she does!

Sure. Especially if they enjoy stylus shenanigans.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Uuuuuh, as a sidekick loli she's not as popular as Maya and Pearl, but she seems more loved than Kay and Trucy. As detective obviously everyone prefers Gumshoe's cute derp. So I think she's moderately liked but not to the point people would ship her a lot or something.

Balsa's one of the few female protagonists in an anime who is a great action character without being a cliché I Are Strong Female Hear Me Roar. She's badass and tough, yes, but also good-hearted and sensible which more warrior women should be in fiction. And she's gorgeous without giving fanservice, which is rare and amazing.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yup!

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I can't relate, but her past really moved me.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

BALSA/TANDA OTP. Her ~~mommy~~ older sister relationship with Chagum pretty much makes the show, and Jiguro's mentorship is heartbreaking.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
LADY, STOP BREAKING YOUR NON-WIFE'S HEART AND STAY WITH HIM. I know you have shit to be done, but the poor guy has been waiting foreeeever. (I love how this series is so gender role reversal.)

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
I'm pretty lame, so we probably wouldn't get along.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
I really like the series and I'll always point at her as an awesome female character, but I don't know if she's a top favorite.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
I'd hype her, definitely. I'd hype almost all the whole cast, actually.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
She's pretty much the show, so if you like Seirei no Moribito you gotta like her even a little.

I am in complete agreement about Balsa and Tanda. It felt like the ending left it open that she might finally come back to him and settle down. The role reversal was well done and in a very low key way.

Note: I haven't finished this game.

He's pretty much a lot of my fetishes rolled in one guy: noble royalty, flirt, dork, metrosexual blond, mechanic. But you get to know him better in the game and besides that, he's a very smart, selfless guy, a pretty good king, and a cool brother. Of course he's my favorite together with Sabin.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Just slightly more than some other PCs, but his plot isn't that linked to Terra's so not so much.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I obviously can't relate, LMAO. But I'm ridiculously attached to the Figaro twins.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
Not much. Most people are into different things than me. It's all full of elitists who feel like bashing the other FF games because they think 6 is superior -and mind you, this is the only FF that hooked me, but it's no reason to wank with people who disagree. ~~Even if Kefka IS scarier than Sephiroth.~~

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I don't like him with any female in the game and I see him as a very straight guy, so I don't ship him at all. I ADORE his relationship with Sabin, in any case. It's one of those brotherhoods that nothing can break, like the Elrics.

Not really.

WOULD HE HIT ON ME? HE PROBABLY WOULD. HE HITS ON ANY FEMALE EVER.

He overlaps too much with others for that, but he's one of my favorites in a Squeenix game!

If they have similar tastes to mine. If it's someone in the Tales fandom who likes both Zelos and Peony.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
I once checked the FF6 tag on Pixiv and it was disappointing and bigger on Locke or Setzer, so I assume it's the same in Western fandom.

Since it was based in novels, maybe the ending was open in the original source or something. Either way, the role reversal was great. Normally the atoning bodyguard would be a man, the healer shaman waiting for their beloved a woman, and the destined child with the supernatural factor out to kill them a princess. BUT NOT HERE. And it's very refreshing.

I like her a lot! True it's not one of the most developed or healthier female characters in the series, but she's cool and adorable regardless. She's a badass ninja who's still very shy and awkward with people, and she's a very loyal warrior (maybe too loyal, but oh well)

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
No. She just helps around and one of her actions triggers Ling's greed (even literally), but she's quite minor.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I don't relate to her, but when Fu died and she was crying it was awful ;;

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
Not much, it's a goddamn mess! Even sticking to the manga/Brotherhood subfandom it still is.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I ship her with Ling like Fed-ex. As for platonic, there's of course her gradfather-granddaughter relationship with Fu, which is to be honest the most touching of hers. Outside that, she doesn't talk a lot with other people enough to bond. I did like her scenes with Knox and Hohenheim though.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
To talk more with other people. I would've liked to see how she got along (or not) with Mei after the final battle, now that they're not enemies.

She'd probably ignore me, LOL.

Probably not, but I still like her a lot.

FFFF, NO. "OMG what a Mary Sue for recovering from automail faster than Edo!!1!" Oh, and also she's a bad feminist model because she devotes to a man (nevermind that she's a bushido bodyguard type and Ling is their prince, so it's not a matter of genre roles.) It's sad that the main reason why I suspect no one gives a damn about her is because she's a girl. I'm 200% convinced that if Lan Fan had been a boy, everyone in fandom would love him and make a lot of fanworks with him and ship him with everyone because he'd be a d'awwwww cute moe ninja uke or some shit. But alas, she lacks a penis.

Desire creeps me out a little, but then again I'm not very a sexual person myself. If it's okay, I'll go with almost everyone's favorite Endless, Death.

I like her, mostly because she's very zen and cheerful and comforting after millenniums doing the job. Grim Reapers, psychopomps and incarnations of the concept of death in fiction intrigue me a lot (which is strange because it's one of my biggest fears) and Dee is one of the cutest, deepest of the ones I've ever seen.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yeah, I'd say so.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I don't think it's healthy to relate too much with an Endless, despite of their very human emotions XD I don't relate to her, though. She does give me fuzzy feelings.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I've never checked the fandom. The closest is people on my flist who devours everything Gaiman writes, and most of them are pretty cool.

I like to see her interacting with her siblings, honestly. Especially Dream.

Not particularly, as my favorite Death is Pratchett's Discworld, but I do like her a lot!

I have no idea, but I imagine that she has to be.

Personally, I'd feel a lot more comfortable about dying if I knew for a fact that someone as nice as Death was waiting for me at the other side...

Well, Desire is kind of like a train wreck to me: you want to look away, but you can't help but stare. They REALLY creeped me out too, and although I didn't like their personality, there was something strangely... fascinating about them. Maybe it was because Desire is pretty, but yeah, I like Death a lot more. She's doesn't come across as vindictive, and she's just doing her job (whereas I got the exact opposite vibe from Desire). I was sad that she didn't show up more :C

I really liked the sibling interactions, too! I liked seeing them gather at Destiny's place and talk and just be really dysfunctional XD Dream and Death do seem to have a very special bond, though, so it was really sad to see what happens in the end.

Hmmm Anubis/Death would be very interesting. I'm not much of a shipper, but I'd have to check that out if it existed.

I honestly don't understand why I don't like Desire. S/he's obviously playing the part of the mean trickster on Dream. Mind you, in Norse mythology I love Loki despite of how much of a bastard he is from Balder's death and forwards, and I'm perfectly fine with all the other creepy trickster-types in this comic, so IDEK. I think it's the over the top. The more over the top an Endless is, the hardest it's for me to dig them (which is why I like the more laid back ones who also embody their opposite, like Death and Destruction). S/he's all LOL I'M TEMPTING EVERYONE ON/OFF LUST FOR THE LULZ and meh, all you have left is the bitchiness.

Re 10 - Hearing people say that she's a "bad feminist" just baffles me, because I always thought of Ling and Ranfan as an awesome inversion of the knight-and-princess trope... pairing... thing.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
He's one of my favorite characters in everything, so I guess that's a like? XD It's hard to say why I like him (and despite of his flaws and unfortunate implications) without going terribly tl;dr, sadly, so I'll leave it as him gathering a lot of character traits and tropes I really like in one sparkly package.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Pretty much, yes! About the third or second most important character.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I can't relate at all, but his speech when he was facing Yami tugs my heart.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I wish there was a larger fandom? LJ fandom is so quiet, forum folks are weird, blogger fans are just generic gamers with elitist tastes who pester people into playing it, Tumblr fandom is cool but also a little quiet. In general they're nice and there's no big wank, so it's a nice corner to be.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
I ship Amaterasu/Waka in this strange way. I think he's deeply in love with her soul regardless of her shape, but I suppose it would be one-sided because this is Ammy we're talking about and I can't see her feeling romantic/sexual love. But mostly, they're friends and nakama forever.
I'm, uh, also intrigued by any combination of Waka/Kamono/Abeno. And Pixiv made me dig Sugawara/Waka, then it turned out they probably never met!
When it comes to platonic friendships, Waka+Issun is hilarious. I would've LOVED to see more interactions between Waka+Ishaku (who were bros for life), Waka+Himiko, Waka+Sakuya. And of course, I need an answer for how Waka feels about Kurow because it's fucking killing me.

All the horrible implications on his personality that were left by Okamiden. Since he never appeared to explain himself or show any emotion about it, it makes him look like a heartless douchebag.
