For this meme, again. Part 2.
For
laurus_nobilis, Luna's reflections. Set during OotP, of course.
It was the most unusual train travel she had ever had, Luna thought, while she opened her bed that night.
Normally, the yearly trip to school through the Hogwarts Express was dull for her. For the other students, it was always a lot of fun, since they could talk with their friends and maybe play some card games. However, she'd get behind, alone in a compartment or sitting there with people she didn't know well and never say a word to her. And if they were going to speak to her, it'd be in order to mock her.
It was sad for the first two years, but she was used to it. It was their lost, she'd say to herself like every other day she was ignored or ridiculed. There was no reason to get upset, so she'd take it with a serene attitude. Just... get over it; they're stupid and close-minded anyway.
That year was different, though. She shared her compartment with some interesting Gryffindors, and even if they didn't interact that much to her, she had fun for the first time.
Ginevra Weasley -or Ginny, as they call her- had always been kind to her. Luna appreciated she actually tried to restrain her giggles so they wouldn't hurt her. Nobody else seemed to care and laugh aloud. Harry Potter -the famous Boy Who Lived- didn't seem like a neurotic nut job to her at all, after getting to know him. He was fine, and he could see the thestrals like her, even if he was a bit scared of them. Neville Longbottom -who had actually just met- seemed to be a sweet guy. His cactus was pretty, actually; too bad its Stinksap... well, stinks. But almost every useful thing does, right?
Hermione Granger -who was supposed to be quite smart- was rather rude to her. Luna wasn't fond of her, actually. Such a big mind, and not really open to anything she can't see with her own eyes. What a waste. Ronald Weasley -one of Ginevra's brothers- was one of the funniest persons she had met in her life. She really couldn't understand why Padma Patil was so furious with him last year. She would've preferred to go to the Yule Ball with a hilarious guy than with a brilliant dancer. Then again, she had never understood Padma and her friends at all, so more of the same old. Oh, and that tiny owl was so noisy and adorable! She wanted one like that one someday, definitely.
Meeting new people. Bathing in Stinksap. Carrying an owl. Learning a spell to make your enemy's ears turn into kumquats. It was a nice day, after all.
For
starsdust, Rikuou watches Kazahaya. Set during volume 1.
Rikuou was quite tired, after lifting all those boxes of new goods that arrived that morning. He asked Kakei if he could take a nap upstairs. His boss didn't mind, but he had to tell that guy to come down, since he needed to talk to him about one of those jobs. Fine, he'd tell Kudou.
That dumbass wasn't in his bedroom, or in the bathroom, or in the kitchen/living room. No, the bastard had just decided to sleep in Rikuou's own bedroom. What's up with that? You don't crash on your roommate's bed! Man, was he annoying.
When he was a boy, he heard a Western tale about a blond little girl who slept in a bear's bed. That was odd, considering that Kudou does look -and act- like a girl, and he's always saying that he, Rikuou, is like a fucking bear, roaming around and being tall or something. He wasn't good with metaphors, that Kudou.
Should he kick him out of the bed? He was getting sleepy.
Still, what a shame. Kudou looks his best when he's drowsing, mainly because he finally shuts up. No shit, he looked so calm and, uh, girly. Even cute, if you're into baby faces. The way his mousy hair fell over his pale skin was endearing. How come that bastard is so pretty?
He didn't want to wake him up. Maybe he could just roll him over and sleep by his side? No, Kakei had said he had to talk to Kudou. No time to lay down with Goldilocks.
Rikuou got closer to him. He could hear the jerk breathing. And before he could shake him off, his brown eyes opened wide, fixated in him.
"AAAAAAAAAARGH!"
He took it back: Kudou's not cute at all. And he does scream like a little girl.
