Whoa, this has been the luckiest weekend ever for icontests. This icon won first place at clamp_icontest. It shouldn't surprise me, as even though some icons were amusing, mine is the only one that makes me smile, and I'm not saying it because it's mine. That's just my twisted sense of humour. But still, I thought I would classify but would be pwned by a Chii, again.

And apart from that, I'm sure I'll also win a place at clamp_chorus, even though the results are not up yet. No, I'm not overconfident, the voting is via poll and you can see clearly where I am, and the weekend is over o_o I never thought I was gonna do a good job in that community, like, ever: the standards are so high! But it was a rather nice icon, one of my most interesting.

Oh, about the plot bunnies that were unleashed with the CCK icon...


I'll do it in a script format for time reasons. Let's not get into details, but after a lot of effort, Cardcaptor Watanuki captures all the Clow Cards and is declared the new cardmaster ("Ha! In your face, Doumeki!"). What then? He gets into a trance...

Kimi: Where the @#$% am I?
Man: Hello there! ^_^
Kimi: Huh? Am I dead? Are you my daddy who passed away?
Man: ... No, to both ^^U at least not in this dimension. Ahem, anyway... Take care of the guardians and the cards for me, Kimihiro-san, would you?

Kimi: Well, it could happen... You know, in fantasy movies the wiz...

Woman: YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! Get out of Watanuki's mind!
Clow: Yuuko? How did you get into the spell? o___O
Yuuko: I need to talk to you, in private! ò____ó [yanks]
Clow: ^^UUU Are you aware I'm just a "memorandum" spell and not the real Clow?
Yuuko: That's better! That way you'll get to listen without giving me annoying arguments to defend yourself >D
Clow: ... Oh, I just remembered I have to wash my hair... Sorry, Kimihiro, I can't give you the important message to the plot, you'll have to figure it out with no clue at all.
Watanuki: WHAT?!
Yuuko: Come back, you liar! Holograms of dead guys can't wash their hair!! >__<

Those are good ones! Kero stealing all of Kimihiro's self-made food (or asking him to cook some more), he gets angry and calls him a plushie, and there're sheds of blood.

Sadly, I'm not sure he'd get along with Yue as well.

Yours was one of the few /funny/ ones. Looks like people who make pretty icons do not have much sense of humour maybe... less technique, more concept, ya know ? anyway, congratulation, it was a very deserved win ^_^

I guess you're right: the prettiest ones weren't that humouristic to me, more on the "it's not dead serious" side, or on the "let's take an amusing or chibi picture." But then again, I thought it was just me, whose sense of humour is really weird. I just like to make jokes like the one in the icon: it's the kind of thing I do and like. Satiric crossovering and character roleplaying ^^u

Honestly, it's hard to be funny and nifty at the same time. That's why my funny icons are usually just crop-and-text with a couple of filters, because it's more about the message. As long as it looks decent and it doesn't seem like a 12 year-old made it in Paint, it's good enough.

I'm just having an funny-vs-pretty issue in a challenge this week. The concept I planned is simple, but as it's my first submission in that community, I don't want to just paste a screencap with a witty phrase.
