I learned my lesson

I'm not complaining. I'm not bitching. I'm not being sarcastic or cynical.

Not today, anyway XD I'll be clean for a while. Honest.

So what will I do today? Ranting. About what? A possitive thing. XXXHOLiC volume #4, that is. Because I can. And I'll spoil everyone who hasn't read it or is waiting for the scanlations in the process. Mwahahaha. Now you'll be able to understand what happened, [livejournal.com profile] threeleaf ^_^

Part one: Valentine's Day of Doom

Color picture 1: Watanuki stirs up chocolate fudge, with a creepy expression.
Color pseudo-poster: Yuuko in a maid outfit, posing sexy with her children with Clow both Mokonas.
Color picture 2: Yuuko and the zombie twins (I mean, Maru and Moro) enter and ask about the Valentine sweets. Now we know what Watanuki was up to. And Mokona tries to eat the fudge, but he won't let it.
So now we discover Yuuko forced Watanuki to bake her some chocolate treats, in the middle of the night, and he even had to go buy the chocolate since there wasn't any. He complains, since "guys don't give chocolate in Valentine's, that's a girl thing" (heh, ask CCS!Syaoran...), but Yuuko goes philosophical about what's normal and what's not, making a valid point about you can do whatever, as long as it won't hurt anyone else.
Because yeah, his boyslave isn't "anyone else", and exploiting him won't hurt him. He, of course, is angry.

He finish them, and Yuuko and Mokona wait until midnight to eat theirs (now is Valentine's day!), so they do. And they ask wine to drink them down XD

There are 5 treats left. And Yuuko send 4 of them to the Syaoran-tachi via Mokona. No, she's not generous: she does that in order to get White Day presents! The remaining one is left to Watanuki so he can give it to anyone. You can guess who will be the chosen one, hm? He's predictable XD

But Himawari's got the flu, and she skips school the next day :( Watanuki falls into a depression, interrupted by Doumeki, who comes in the classroom through a window. But while Kimihiro wasn't looking, his "dear friend" devours the minicake, and drinks the hot cocoa. You can imagine the reaction XD

While they return home, he's still bitching at Doumeki. Because, if it wasn't bad enough, Doumeki had got lots of chocolate from girls at school (a whole bag!). He admits he thought the cake was a present from someone to Watanuki and not the opposite, which makes things worse.

But then, they find a strange -and nervous- girl with a weird eskimo coat walking down the street. Kimihiro asks her what's wrong, and she squees and blushes at the sight of the bishies. And she admits she didn't expect to find *him* so soon. Watanuki concludes it's a Doumeki fangirl. She says she was waiting for something special as a present, as he was a special guy, and she couldn't find anything good enough.

But she did find something then! She approches Shizuka, and inserts her hand inside his stomach o_o And she removes the cake Watanuki made. He passes out. The girl is in shock, as she didn't expect that. She starts crying, and runs flies away. So now we know she wasn't either a Doumeki fangirl OR human.

Yuuko finds the two (yeah, 'coincidence'), and explains that it seems his soul has been removed, and if they don't get the treat back, he will stay like this. Time to return the favour, Kimi-kun! And besides, the girl came to them because Watanuki attracked her, so it's all his fault, sorta.

The witch takes advantage of him, and charges him for extra help and explanations. At this pace, you'll never be free, Wata! She whistles and...

[cue Wagner music]

A giant eagle, riden by Mokona (with pilot goggles and hat! so cute! ^o^), appears. And I'm beginning to suspect CLAMP also "borrows" ideas from Tolkien. And Buckbeak is half eagle. Actually, I thought Watanuki would make a Titanic personification like movie!Harry. But I digress.

He jumps on the eagle, still in horror with the amount of crack, and chases the phantom girl.

But when he gets to her, a gang of surfer midgets/babies with mafia ourfits and matching sunglasses (and some chibi dark wings on their backs) surround him. They start screaming "You're mean, don't make her cry!", and they take out their weapons: paper fans! (... I'm having Super Smash Bros flashbacks)

They hitted them, and Watanuki falls down. The eskimo girl stops his fall and save him, and the yakuza midgets go "why do you defend him, he's mean!" She replies he's not mean at all. She apologies, explaining she wanted to give the treat as a present. Watanuki, being so cute, says it's alright, but she accidentaly took the soul of her crush when she took out the cake. She goes blank, and he goes "huh?" He continues (how oblivious!) about she shouldn't make Doumeki go KO, and she understood.

She tells him the present wasn't for his friend. It was for HIM. And she hands the treat, and leaves flying. And the chibi yakuzas warn him about making her cry again or else XD

Watanuki, the eagle and Mokona return, the first one confused and embarrased. The eagle leaves, and Kimi asks Yuuko *what* was that girl. It was a Japanese house spirit. As bad faith is those spirits' weakness, they don't show up to people too often. They normally hide with crow gods from the mountain (at the moment, Kimi remembers the midgets and realizes they were crow gods things). [Now I wonder, does she mean "tengu" by that? God, I hope so! Does anyone have the English version, or the Japanese version so I can check it? I'd lo~ve them to be tengu! *is a Japanese mythology geek*). But since it's February 14th, she really wanted to give her secret crush (aka, Watanuki) a present. And Yuuko teases him about it, he blushes, and then remembers bitterly it was *his* cake.

As the cake was made by someone who called spirits, and was inside a guy who repels spirits, it seemed a sooo speshal pressie lolz. But Watanuki was still annoyed his only Valentine was given by a spirit, and it was something he cooked, and he couldn't eat it in the end (you'd better not, eww). He pushes the treat down Doumeki's body (lying on the street, covered by newspapers by Yuuko), and he wakes up. Yuuko says hi, and gossips about Watanuki's Valentine, while the bespectacle boy screams in frustration over the crack.
