So now LJ is back! *dances* And I have a new icon.
Let's get down to biz.
XXXHOLiC volume 4 part 3: the return of the dictionary
Splash: Maru and Moro wearing nurse outfits, and bandaging a giant black Mokona. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either.
The date is over, and the boys thank them for a wonderful evening, and the younger sis replies to them. The elder one looks at Doumeki and then gets sad again. The younger ask them to go to the movies to see the movie they were talking about before at the cafe. The elder sis murmurs, «Always the same». Yep, more waves. Kimi notices, of course.
Back at Yuuko's, Kimihiro tells her about his "date", and she keeps up with the teasing. He considers the whole thanking to him for helping with the contact lens was an excuse made by the younger sis to date Doumeki. Yuuko, who's reading a shounen manga magazine, asks him if he's pissed, and he says he's used to be... used, you know. But there's something that makes him concerned. Yuuko asks if it's the fact there's no way he gets a girl, and he screams that's not it, although the other jerk getting girls does annoy him.
The thing that concerns him are the waves. Waves, he ask? Yuuko replies with the usual dictionary definition of wave (yay, the dictionary joke is back!) But there's another meaning. Waves can also be anything you can't oppose and rebel to.
Back to school. Kimihiro is talking to Himawari, and tells her they went to that cafe, and the cakes were delicious. She also loves the cakes, and is so cute when she talks about them he swoons. So he gathers courage, and is about to ask her to go out with him to that place, but... Doumeki shows up and interrupts him XD Watanuki is fed up with Doumeki showing up everywhere. He screws up, as he tells Watanuki they're going to the movies with the twins right after school, in front of Himawari, who had actually seen the twins on the bus. Kimihiro falls into dispair. She wishes them luck, happy, not jealous at all.
They go to the movies, and the film looks a lot like Yumegari, one of CLAMP's older works I haven't read. At the theater there are ghosts that are attracted to fear. He wouldn't go to that place under no circunstance, but he was forced. They don't bother him, as Doumeki is there, too. The younger sis gets scared by the movie, and clings to Doumeki *cough*subtle*cough*, while the elder sis, is sad and fed up. «I so want this to end.» As soon as she says this, her forehead starts bleeding. They have to leave, and Kimihiro, who heard her, wonders if it's got to do with the blood.
After that, Yuuko said it was likely. It wasn't the first time something happened after she says something. Like with the lens, she was convinced they were not going to find it. Then he understands: the chains are words. Yuuko tells him words are a terrible thing. Once they come out of your lips, they can't be taken back or be erased. Words are alive, and they bind our lifes.
At school, Watanuki tells Doumeki. He says it sounds like kotodama: souls of words. In memorial times, they believed words had mysterious powers, and Japon was called the country of soulful words. Shizuka asks Kimi if they should see the twins again. Dou-kun had given his handkerchief to the elder, so they had to meet. Doumeki said he didn't care, and it was up to him. Watanuki didn't care either, and told Dou-kun to decide, since now he knows about the word thing. Kimi wanted to talk about her about that issue, but she might not believe him. Doumeki tells him, if he wants to talk to her, then he should, and not mentalize himself before time, like she tends to do. Then Himawari arrives, and they stop talking.
Back to Duklyon, they're sitting with the elder. She couldn't wash off the blood, so she gives Doumeki a brand new handkerchief. He goes order, and Watanuki asks her if she has a crush on our archer. He encourages her to speak to him, as he's not such that bad a person. She replies «she can't be compared to her sister, who's more happy and lucky, and everything goes fine to her, while she's the opposite.» Kimi tells her not to think things are going to end up bad before they happen, that she has to be more possitive and try it. Then Dou-kun comes back, and gives her a coffee and milk -he had noticed she ordered one at the cafe- as a thanks for the handkerchief. She's surprised by the gesture, thanks him, exchange a look with Watanuki, and smiles.
Things are going to get worse in the next issue XD
