GIP and TRC stupidity
And I'm showing my D.Gray-man icon. Because today's chapter = when fandoms and Gaarder books collide. Too bad the ones who know the series haven't read the book, and the ones that have read the book haven't read the series. Sigh, an obscure reference is lost, alas. But the phrase? Fits Allen like you wouldn't believe O_O
I give it an 8. It could've been way worse, really.
There are opening screencaps here.
Let's start with the opening. I love it. Really, the song is great and the animation is balanced enough. We start with a Syaoran closeup, and then we see Kurogane, with his faithful sword, killing some sort of big bugs. We get a moment with Tomoyo-hime looking cute and concerned, and we return to the carnage. Then back to Syaoran walking and posing. We get to Fye, who's attacked by a masked minion with a Freddie Krueger/Wolverine weapon. Fye dodges then with his sillyYukito face. Then he opens his eyes, smiles again, and he throws Mokona to the soldier to distract him. And then he jumps and "kicks ass" in a dorky, monkey-like way, while we see King Ashura's face at the background O_o Sort of funny, because he looks like he's doing ballet. Laurus, remember the ninja wizard joke? Well, yeah, sort of like that.
We get the three guys (and part of Mokona) posing in dark suits. Then some images of clone!boy (shush with the spoilers). Then Sakura is holding a red bird (cardinal, it's called?) and lets it fly away. Then random footage with Sakura being cute and/or small, one of them biting an apple. And we start with the apples already. Back to Syaoran closeup. He holds a feather, then disappear. Now he's running through the desert. Then he's attacked by this sort of huge metallic guy that looks like a Power Rangers baddie, and gets HIS ass kicked. Then S+S posing (man, Sakura has zero breasts!). Then we see Syaoran angry floating at the universe, with stars (huh? déjà-vu, anyone?) And guess who we see! It's Fei Wan and his bitch, floating in space! He probably said "If that bastard Clow can do it, I'm going to do that, too!" Fei Wan, get a life. Or go screw your harem hos. Then Syaoran shoots some energy from his fist to them (huh??) And then we see Sakura, sleeping, floating in space, shining in pink (huh???)
Both Mokonas bounce on a blue screen, with no stars, or green or pink shining whatsoever, and then we see the gratuitous group shot to finish up. Mokonas. Fye and Yuuko. S+S. Tomoyo and Kuro. Kurogane is the only one sitting, with a boring face. Probably he got sick of the stars, too.
--- End of opening ---
We know this scene. The one with them trapped in the weird crystal thing, crying and trying to hold each other's hands. It's *exactly* the same as the manga. Just with, you know, trance .hack music. Because the OST is good, but it's sort of recycled from the .hack series, made by the same studio and the same composer. Yeah, smooooothly original. It's good, but, you know... again?
Clow kingdom. Sand. It's orange. Syaoran returns home. Now, I can't check my manga, but didn't he live sort of outside town? Because he lives in the city in anime. He takes his hood and greets the portrait. Fujitaka looks soooo cute! *fangirls* (what? I have no Eriol to swoon, he'll have to do!)

Syaoran's voice tends to sound slightly like Daisuke Niwa's from time to time, but I'll get used to it, I suppose. At the same moment, Sakura enters andmolests him falls and hugs him like Dino would do. Until they notice and jump out of each other. Sakura's seiyuu, in the end, is fine. She does a great job sounding pissed. Anyway, it's like the manga here, sort of.
Now it's different. He goes down the street with her. She hides her face with her hood, because you know, a princess wouldn't go to the local market with the plebe. When did I start watching Aladdin? The animation in this scene is AWFUL, thanks. The eyes are humongous. Then she sees herfix now canon addiction: yellow apples. So she forgets the hood and goes to get one. The saleswoman says something like the princess can have it. And then all the people go "OMG HIMESAMA!" and go see her like she's a pop idol or something. And Syaoran all proud, because hime is so popular. But then these guys who might be guards go running to her and she's all disappointed because she was having fun with the apples and Syaoran and the salesmen. So Syaoran takes her hand and runs for it. But he runs so fast, she's flying on the air horizontally like she's a kite XDDD And she's all WTF, holding her apple with her other hand while Syaoran goes "weeeeeee!".
They go to the desert and lay on a rock, tired. He tries to take his hand out, but she grasps it and looks at him in asuggestive tender way. Maybe she wants to lose her virginity in that rock and he won't get it. Just kidding! They can see the ruins from there. They sit and watch it, because their world has no TV. And then they remind me their character design look ugly on the side. You can take it when they're lookin at the front, but otherwise... Then they talk about the day they met, when their fathers were still alive and...

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! ♥ Fanservice! I never expected him to be so soon! Granted, it's just by far, but... waaaah! By the way, no, they don't talk. And they still break my brain.

Anyway, they continue with the chat that I can't understand and still would bore me if I could. Fluffy music won't help. And she's still holding the bloody apple. The bell sounds, and they fell. It's not as funny, since it's not even chibi and she's not looking pissed, ptooey. She puts the apple on her clothes pocket (...) and they say good-bye. And she says the same thing that in the manga, I guess. Same with him.
Castle. She tiptoes. And we hear Touya. For being Miki-san, it's still weird to hear his Touya, but he's not bad at all. He sounds sexybecause it's like a young Urahara, baby, we're just not used to not!Seki. There's something in TC!Touya that reminds me of Roy Mustang. Which is not, actually such a bad thing. Must be the smirk.

Sexy! They argue, he calls him a koso and a gaki, and then, Yuki comes.

Cute! I think his seiyuu fits him. I know the fandom is still shock for the "gasp! male seiyuu!" thing, but I never minded. Must be because I first saw CCS in Spanish, and Yuki's Mexican seiyuu was a GUY. Actually, for me it was weird to hear Megumi Ogata voicing him later on. TR!Yuki's voice is good and cute. Not too feminine, not too macho. Just perfect.
The rivalry thing is not that funny, because there's still no SD (weeps). Man, I miss that! But meanwhile, screencaps! With the OTP!! <3 When they call each other by their names, I swear it's orgasmic *_*

Then we see Syaoran going to the ruins in the middle of the night. And more OTP!

Then, we see, sooner than you'd expect, Fei Wan, clone!boy and his chick whatshername. We get the .hack music, again, like all the stressful and fluffyless moments. He still has his harem on the anime, yeah.
Commercial break.

I thought it looked cool, what's wrong o_o
And that's the first half. Join me tomorrow, because it's 11:00 pm and I have things to do, more important than screencapping the OTP anyway.
Just to say earlier: Fye's voice? Good. Kuro's voice? Excelent. Tomoyo's voice? Different, but not bad. Yuuko's voice? Awful! Mokona's voice? Bad for a pet.

Yes on both Touya and Yukito. There's something definetely Roy-ish about Touya. I also thought that Yukito's dub was ok... but I also saw the mexican dub first.
Ah! OTP screen time. Let's hope we see them again.

Not at all, not at all. But, of course, you knew I was gonna say that. Right?
Still, Touya...aw, one of my first loves and he will forever remian in my heart. And Miki Shinichirou doing his voice is just great.

And yay, I'm SO glad Clow is there! :D I don't care if it's just a second and far, I didn't expect him to be there at all- he didn't show up in the manga until chapter 20-something... (Does it still count as fanservice when the guy's got, what, ten fans?) The palace looks good in colour, by the way. Glad to see not everything is orange!
Fujitaka *does* look cute. And so does little Shaoran, for a change.
And I'll say it again: OMGTouya*drooool* x_x Especially in that last screencap. (And yes, he does have Roy's smirk!
Now I have an image of Clow country's guards forced to wear miniskirts)no subject

Except the guards we saw seemed to be all guys? Oh, wait, this is a bisexual king, that's not an issue. They can use kilts and go all "highlanders"! :D J/K. What I CAN see is Yukito trying to make him do the paperwork. That should be fanon.

it's probably just the main priest the one who has to wear miniskirtsno subject
But they're saving the series for me. T/Y, random Clow, random Fuji and Kurogane. I have my doubts about Fye, Yuuko is probably all screwed up and Mokona doesn't sound funny at all... woe.

Vas a poner el audio de los dialogos de Yuuko en la pagina? OO;

Man, I'd love to see that, Yuki in a miniskirt >Dno subject

Fye is a lot of crack, so Miki would have been at home with him but he can do anything, really; I had my doubts about him doing Urahara (mianly because my impression of him was Tsuzuki, not my favourite character in Yami No Matsuei at all) and look how well it turned out.

Because the OST is good, but it's sort of recycled from the .hack series, made by the same studio and the same composer.
Maybe she wants to lose her virginity in that rock and he won't get it.
Menudo comentario O_o

That said, Yukito looks awfully cute, so I am definitively downloading the first episode. What can I say? I am a fangirl after all :P
