I wasn't either, until I was reading BWYS scanlations. Then again, in Ashura lalaland, everyone describes eyes in Sue/Stuish purple prose (OMG the guests have emerald and amber eyes!!). And then there's Syaoran's comment about Shurano!Fye&Kuro's eyes.

Heh, yes. But I've found that this version of Ashura doesn't bother me half as much as his RG Veda self (and not nearly like Daddy *sporks*). Even if Ashuras in general *do* seem to bring doom upon every world they're in... guess you can't help it when you're named after a god of destruction, though. :/

What puzzles me is that he's supposed to be actually male this time, but looks girlier than ever. O_O And Yasha is still "meh". He annoyed me more than Ashura for some reason, even if he didn't actually do anything.

Yeah, this Ashura looks girly, and the fact he acts so smooth doesn't help either. Not even with a sword in his hands and stabbing he'll stop looking androgynous (sp?)

I still find this arc's plot complicated and weird, months later.
