Finally, finally, finally. I have canon proof on this. Actual pictures where the Mokonas appear with their full names.

So, yeah, in the end I made some tests, and the Mokona book is really easy to scan. The text is several centimeters away from the page border. Which is great, since I suck at scanning, and yet I'll be able to get this baby scanned. *nods*

Not right now, though. *cringes at the Operative Systems practical work due on Friday.

ETA: now that I'm see the image again, I'm guessing that the runes might work more as initials than the actual name. Like, if you were to write Soel in ancient Norse, you'd have to write it with Sowilo as it's their S letter. Same with Larg and Laguz. Of course, there's also a high chance Ohkawa Clow truly sucked at transliterations and messed up with their names' writing. After all, this is the "King of predecessor" lady. That would explain my theory about Clow being Jiulou's bad transliteration.

Oh, and question. Is Keroberos the official pronunciation for Cerberus? Because in the book, they used Keruberosu as katakana for his name. Which of course, would be the correct Greek pronunciation of the name passed to Japanese (Kerberos -> Keruberosu), if we're picky.

yo no soy experta para nada, pero me ha resultado bastante facil, o sea que sip, debe ser de primaria japonesa XDDD el coñazo es buscar las palabras que no sabia, pero con los furiganas es facil, escribes la lectura en el diccionario y buscas el resultado que es igual que el kanji, no tiene perdida, solo hay una posbilidad XD (pero asusta la de opciones que salen, como se aclaran al hablar???) XDDDDDDDDD

According to Dante-san's Divine Comedy, Cerberus is a (three-headed-dog) demon that watches over the Third Circle of Hell–for the Gluttons. "Cerberus" is probably the Latin form of the Greek "Kerberos"...but why CLAMP would name the character after a three-headed-dog demon is beyond me.

KERUBEROSU should end up as Cerberus in the English, but I don't have my books on me... Is that actually how it's spelled out in the Japanese? I thought for some reason that it was written out as "KEROBEROSU" and that CLAMP did it on purpose because they wanted Sakura to be able to call him something cutesy, hence "Kero-chan". Or maybe I'm making that up. XD Hope not.

Yeah, as far as I know, the canon katakana and pronunciation was KerOberosu. The thing is, in Soel to Larg they changed it to KerUberosu. I might not speak Japanese, but I can read most of the katakana, and it was changed.

Maybe it's because it's from Mokona's point of view, and that makes it different? Is it a typo? Or CLAMP just forgot? XD Nah, I doubt it much, but since they didn't need to make the kero-frog joke, they wanted to write the kana right?

However, they're confusing the crap out of me.
