I downloaded the Eva manga volume 10 in raw from a torrent tonight. Because I like the manga characterization better than anime's, and I was curious. I had read some summaries of the two first chapters, so a lot of surprises waited for me.
IT WAS SO GAY.
No, really! I didn't ship Kaworu/Shinji back in the days. I did think it was cute, but I prefered Asuka/Shinji. However...
I don't know. I like them in the manga as a pairing. In part, because it's sooo not fluffy sap like in the anime, and because I prefer this Kaworu better than the like-Jesus one from the anime.
But dude, this volume? Sadamoto pushed the fanservice to a level, I had to check during and after it to make sure I wasn't reading some pre-yaoi doujinshi. How can this happen in canon of a shounen mecha manga, again?
I MEAN IT! ON THE LIPS! ON THE BED, WITH SHINJI HALF ASLEEP!

O sea que cuando me bajé los screencaps del Girlfried of Steel 2 y al ver las imagenes de cercanía y-sepa-su-entidad-superior-preferida-que-más de los dos Children caí en cuenta de la existencia de un cuasi-canonico Kaworu Ending (¡¡ESAS IMÁGENES DE REI Y KAWORU CON ALAS, CADA UNO CON SHINJI!! ¡Panic!) pensé "esto es lo más canónicamente cercano que va a ser el Shinji/Kaworu" estaba muy, muy equivocada, ¿ne?
Si Sadamoto hace la escena del corte de cabezas va a tener un significado completamente nuevo, y aún más perturbador que en el original.

En el final, Gainax puso un poco para cada shipper en la peli, para tener al fandom contento y no volviese a pasar el fiasco del final de la serie otra vez. Claro, que cada escena shipper era, de plano, más traumatizante que la anterior...

Adoro mucho más a los personajes en el manga, y mi gusto por la pareja volvió con fuerza.
Cuando vi el anime ni me gustaba el slash ni nada, pero por ellos fue imposible no adorarlos, como con Touya/Yukito.Gracias por el primer zip :D, a ver si encuentro el volumen en raw en el IRC, porque me gustaría verlo completo.
