Aha!
Episode 5. The old man who got the birds was cut. Instead, daddy kitsune gets the birds and frees them with Doumeki's soopah speshul arrow.
So...
All Tsubasa crossovers are cut.
The old man was cut.
Therefore...
*strikes a pose, puts left hand on hip, extends right arm to the horizon*
OLD MAN WILL BE A TSUBASA CROSSOVER!
The bats ARE Fei Wang-related!
The spy is... the old man!!!!!!

Sorry, I read too much Detective Conan today.

That actually makes sense, you know. *ponders*

Yeah. I know I said it in sillyness, but it's way too convenient.

And wow, this sucks. Wonder what'll happen if the plots become even more closely related. Just remove all the plot entirely and make a new one, because that's somehow less pastede on yay than Tsubasa crossovers?

See, that's the problem with that. They don't seem to care about connections and consistency. They could STILL cut the TRC crossovers and do things in a better order, but they didn't.

You made me crack up, seriously. XD I wonder how much input CLAMP had on the scripting? I consider the anime an alternate universe of the manga; if I didn't, I would be massively disappointed in it. (I'm going to reserve any more judgment on it until it's finished.)
It's a really interesting observation about the TRC crossover being cut and the old shopkeeper also being cut, though.

And that's just the minor things. Skipping plots without justification and cutting off pivotal stuff because it looks bad for them... so far, it makes the series random.
See, we have YET to see Ohkawa's work on the TV series. And still, it makes me wonder if she has told the screenwriters "oh, take off this guy as well, because he'll show up in Tsubasa later on." If she wasn't on the team
doing whatever she's doing, 'cause I don't see it, I'd take it as randomness from them, or wanting to do something cool with the kitsunes. But she's THERE, she could provide them with obscure CLAMPverse canon. It makes me wonder, though. Was that cut because of the bat motif, the man itself, or both? I mean, if they could cut the Clow staff scene off because of one object... maybe it's just for the bats. Who knows.

Who would've thought?! I trusted that old man! *sobs*
Detective Conan! I -love- that boy!
