Oh, I just watched the Super Smash Bros Brawl trailer. OH. MY. GOD. It just rocked my socks so much. Nintendo and HAL, you fuckers, you just bought me a Wii (harhar.) So awesome. I'm a bit depressed, though, because even though Twilight Princess!Link is so hawt, my favorite Link will always be OoT!Link. Does anybody know if OoT!Zelda/Sheik will make a comeback? I'll sulk if she doesn't.

But hey, I have no complains about the new characters. I love Pit's design, he's such a cutey. Metaknight is awesome and Samus looks sexy without her armor. And my brothers will have a blast with Solid Snake -ROFL at him hidden inside the box during the trailer- and Wario -cue nasty fart jokes.

And who else thought Kirby didn't change a bit during the "transformation" sequence? He looked the same to me XDDD He didn't even look more round.

God, I loved this episode. Two fandoms with backstory in one week? Awesomeness! <3

Particularly, I'm on the opinion Ursa killed Azulon so they wouldn't hurt Zuko and then she ran away. I think that theory makes the most sense to me, and that was exactly what I thought during the episode itself. Then I noticed, after reading the fans' reaction to it, the turtle-duck rant made it fitting -and forshadowing.

I hope she's still alive and can provide Zuko with answers. Years later, he doesn't seem to understand what happened with his mother yet. And also, I hope they do resolve the enigma sometime later on the show. So far, I prefer the theory above.

So yes I do agree with that theory - it seems pretty clear narratively. The one I can't quite figure out is Azulon - he repriminded Ozai for what he said about Iroh... then he ordered Ozai to kill Zuko in punishment... then he named Ozai his heir before he died. Part of me is tempted to take this biblically; Azulon ordered Ozai to kill Zuko as a test of his ruthlessness and loyalty before naming him heir, and the 'punishment' was just an excuse. Of course, even once Ozai proved willing I don't think Azulon would have settled for a Ram. Azula seems very much granddaddy's little girl as well.

And of course Zuko would be mummy's boy! Ah, I loved all the westerness of the other plotline... and that Zuko was so thoroughly rejected afterwards. I mean, it would have been wonderfully ironic if Zuko had been accepted, if he'd become a hero of the oppressed Earth kingdom, but this way it just goes to show how deep the hatred of the firenation runs, and how difficult it is going to be to repair that damage. I love that this show doesn't flinch away from the harsh consequences! I wonder if Zuko will meet up with the father and brother later...

Ursa is awesome. And I thought it was clear and obvious it was her, until I saw other people's opinions on Internet. Weird.

About Azulon and Ozai, I still wonder that. Did Azulon just rewrite the will because Ozai is hardcore and passed the test, like you said, or did Ozai cheat and leave a fake will around when he discovered Azulon was dead? I want to know that.

Yup, we all saw the rejection coming, even Zuko, but it's still so sad. Zuko doesn't belong anywhere: neither in the Fire Nation, where he's a traitor, nor the Earth Kingdom, where he's thought as an evil creep. No matter where he goes, nobody's going to accept him. But I like how Zuko is learning and leaving his country's racism aside. Both sides of the war are equally bad, after all.

Metaknight is love, I'm so happy he's finally in a Smash game, yay! And I think it's great that Samus took off her suit for once ;P

What game was Pit from? o.O I know he was an available Trophy in SSBM...

I miss OoT!Link so much. But TP!Link is still so yummy~ I think I'm getting used to him at SSB.

I didn't get to play any Kirby besides the first Gameboy one, but Metaknight looks awesome.

I watched the trailer today after reading your post, it is just GREAT. Looks like Kirby also noticed he didn't change XD All the characters look awesome, I want Zelda/Sheik back too.

I'm wondering what kind of moves Snake will have, I think it's the CLOSEST to a real human being in the whole game (ok, he's a clone but still human), so I don't expect super-magic moves, maybe guns or something like that. I loved the way he was introduced, maybe the box will be his shield.

That remains me that when you play Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for Gamecube, there's a part when you met Otakon, a scientist, who was a game cube and a wave bird controller in his lab. Also, two small figures over a computer: Mario and Yoshi. Maybe, this was planned fron some time ago. Snake & Mario fans are like crazy already! He'll probably just use guns. I can think of several characters without "magical" powers in the other SSB games, after all. Maybe he'll have a camuflage ability, too? Disguises? XD

The box should totally be a regular item for everyone to use.

I haven't played MGS, and the one my brothers have is the third one for PS2, but I understand Otakon has always been a geek XDDD Maybe it's usual for him to dig videogames?
