Tsubasa Crapnicle pondering

Okay, last spam today. I promise.

I was thinking. Now that XXXHOLiC TV has labeled Clow Reed as Lord Voldemort material (ie, he exists, but he must not be named), the "plot" has only been left to Bee Train and Tsubasa Crapnicle to develop in anime.

...That's so scary, man! T_T

But here's the thing. The first Clow Reed mention in TRC happened during Sharano. So, unless BT went batshit and slipped Clow or Bond Baddie Guy's name in any of the episodes I didn't watch, it should come around in two weeks. IF it comes around.

I don't know, I think it'll be confusing from a non-manga reader who's not familiar with CCS point of view. They'd have to explain about that ancestor of that bad guy who was allied with the Witch (formerly known as Weirdo) of Dimension, considering that part was already explained in HOLiC so they gave us only the biased Fei Wang summary. But it'll still be confusing, because if they show the ancestor's face, the anime-only fanbrats will go "...Sakura's dad?!"

And I think it'll be a miracle if their lightbulb turns on and decide to explain the Mokona origin at that moment. But that would be too much, and this is the people who interpreted Chii as Fye's posible love interest, so... no.

Anyway... there are three posibilities:
a) They give us a good explanation and include even the part explained in the HOLiC manga
b) They give us a limited explanation that'll confuse the viewers who aren't familiar with the REAL canon
c) ...They'll cut everything Clow because that's complicated. And hey, if they screw it up, they still can change the ending at will! :D

Ugh.

Hmmm. Given what they've done in TC so far, I think option b) is the more likely. They don't really have a way to explain the part we got in HOLiC, unless they made Yuuko randomly tell them about it (but if she was going to tell them, she had no reason to wait until now, right?). On the other hand, after seeing the You Can't Revive People episode, I don't think they're going to ignore the Fei Wang-Clow connection. So a half-assed explanation is the likeliest choice.

I don't know, I think it'll be confusing from a non-manga reader who's not familiar with CCS point of view.
That's already happening, though. A lot of people are reading Tsubasa but not HOLiC, some people are reading HOLiC but not Tsubasa (although they seem to be fewer), and the fandom is such a mess... Sometimes I get annoyed at CLAMP for not explaining things properly in both canons. I'm tired of explaining that TRC!Mokona isn't an alter MKR!Mokona and that, no, I didn't make up the TRC references in my fics... ¬_¬

True, but the manga readers are sold with the idea they HAVE to follow XXXHOLiC in order to understand the plot entirely, from the first chapitre.

But anime viewers (especially the Western kids who don't touch mangas because they have no movement or annoying background music) have no idea. It was never really hinted, except the part of Yuuko being from XXXHOLiC and that was thanks to the movies.

In short, the ones who read the TRC manga and don't know Yuuko worked with Baddie Guy's ancestor to create Mokona have to blame themselves for not reading HOLiC volume 2. A lot of people know they truly should, but they don't. It's their fault here.

But anime followers will be confused without finding out they are. They'll just buy anything Bee Train tells them.

Oh, Bee Train is definitely making it worse by not hinting it, I agree about that. I think the TRC and HOLiC animes should have been made to fit in with each other, just like the manga series.

But I'm still annoyed at CLAMP's marketing device disguised as OMG Original Storytelling, as much as I love their work.

Yup, having watched every single episode of the series, I think they'll go with b. Most people won't get it, but heh, there are still people at my forums that don't understand some facts in the plot which I find stupidly easy. BeeTrain can't babysit the people that's watching its series, nor give them a brain. If they want to interpret it properly, that's up to them.

An example of misunderstood plot devices: I've got someone asking me who was that shadowy figure Fei Wan and Xing Huo were talking to during the part of the Dragonfly race in Piffle, and what was their scheme about... the funny thing is that he has read past the part of the manga in which we discover that Kyle is the culprit and everything about the race is revealed (and yes, he was talking about the manga here (!), so he's not an anime-only fanbrat and we can suppose he's got more braincells than the rest).

...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, after seeing people ask stuff like "Who does Tomoyo like?", but still. Yay for reading comprehension.

Oh, but that's because people love those kind of things. I'd be rich if I got a cent every time they talk about "who's Kurogane in love with?" XD And I'm hated everywhere, by both KuroMoyos and KuroFyes, because I support Kuroganex... Nobody? I just don't see him passionately loving someone ^^u

Bah, rabid shippers are just silly. It's come to the point where you have to be "brave" to say you don't ship a particular character. (I've got really weird looks when people find out I like Clow and Yue but not ClowxYue...)

I'm like that with Watanuki. I just can't ship him with anyone (no matter how canon D/W is.)

Kurogane/Miyuki-chan DVD/right hand OT3!

I think I "sort of" ship Fye/Kuro to piss the Kuromoyos off. Both subfandoms are fucking annoying, but Kuromoyo as a romantic ship gives me those clenching E/T flashbacks...

!!

.....Holy shit, that's... words fail me. What does he do, skip every piece of dialogue not said by Sakura or Syaoran or what?

(Also, I think there's a high chance not even BT executives or screenwriters haven't read XXXHOLiC or know they should. Who knows.)

I don't know, but they sure as hell didn't read RG Veda. In the preview for episode 34, he's got a very femenine mouth, with sexy lips and MAKEUP (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/image/Tsubasa%20Chronicle/Tsubasa%20Chronicle%20-%2033%20-%20Large%20Preview%2005.jpg). Ashura's androgynous, not a trans, for god's sake T_T And now there go all my explanations about him being genderless, people will take that and believe he's a female *dies*

Agh, saw that image the other day and my mind boggled. We could hope Ashura doesn't have a girly voice and we could assume he's a pretty transvestite, but I just KNOW he'll be voiced by a girl to make it worst. Thank you, Bee Train, for killing all the looks-like-it-might-be-ghey relationships.

Thank God my brothers don't watch the anime and only lend my manga. And they have me for filling them in with canon doubts. Sadly (or fortunately), they're not into fandoms.
