Can't sleep, automata will eat me

I like reading about mysteries, alien theories, paranormal things, and all that stuff. I do; I love that crap, it interests me even if I know most of them are bullshit. But watching shows about it, with creepy BGM, in the middle of the night? That scares the bejeezus out of me! And it's nothing new, considering my childhood and early puberty was haunted by the "possibilities" of alien abductions, Earth exploding in pieces, and Revelations' Apocalypse. Two thirds of these phobias were caused by my school's nuns from all people, incidentally.

I learned today that old-fashioned automata will be a source of nightmares in a near future.

And mom's new obsessions cortesy of one Dan Brown are not cool at ALL. Having her talking incoherencies about the Catholic church while the show was explaining the secrets behind the Virgin of Fatima and number thirteen was so fucking annoying.

Anyway, this show wouldn't make me nearly shit on my pants if it was broadcasted on daylight.

Automaton eyes are scareeeee ;________; Especially the clown-like ones.

Old-fashioned automata/dolls/etc. are the scariest things ever. [not-so-random] And that's why I have such high hopes for the current HOLiC saga. ♥ [/not-so-random]

When my siblings and I were little, my grandpa had a stage when he was obsessed with aliens, too. It was damn scary considering how the sky looks in the suburbs of Bariloche ;_;

I say automata are scarier than dolls for one simple, obvious reason: they MOVE. They look like a mix between It and Chuckie. And the show doesn't help because they were rambling about the possibilities of them being alive and/or having a soul -or a part of the maker's soul.

And this is WHY I'm not fond of Maru and Moro jgfdsgjfsghggshf.

My former obsession with Roswell-kind-of aliens comes from sensationalist shows as well. Those pitch-black eyes in a pale face... ;_;

Automata are scary because they move and dolls are scary because they stay quiet and look dead. Like my aunt's porcelain doll that traumatized as a child. Back when I was four years old it was about my own size, and it had natural hair and everything, and it looked like a dead girl sitting on a chair. T___T

And I'm still not fond of Maru and Moro either...

(The funny thing is that I still love automata and other artificial life in fiction, from Edward Scissorhands to Data. Even Frankenstein's monster has a little place in my heart. I wonder why that is.)

It could be worse. Apparently reading Brown's Angels and Demons is enough to make some people think that they know everything about antimatter and CERN (http://public.web.cern.ch/Public/Content/Chapters/Spotlight/SpotlightAandD-en.html). At least with religion it's hard to find solid facts... unlike when you write erroneous stuff about a major scientific organization that could be cleared up with even a little research. >_>
