taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Kaho / Eriol taught me to climb up trees)

This déjà-vu is sponsored by Cadbury's

You know, I suck at reading. Mainly because of my ADD versatility and Gemini-qualities. I swear, can't I wait to finish a book to start a new one?! I'm reading FOUR books at the time: two are re-readings, two are books I bought YESTERDAY. I don't get myself. I really don't. And I'm short on bookmarks now.

I'm surprised I'm still following every plot.

Anyway, I wanted to make a post ever since I got the "I've seen this before in the second arc!" déjà-vu when I read volume 4.

Warning: Li glaring and Eriol/Kaho subtext.

Seen in volume 4:

Seen in volume 7:

Dude. The EXACT SAME pose. Kaho and Eriol have the same damned pose. It must be a sign or something.

Eriol/Kaho: TheirloveupsetsLiverymuch.

And now I'll finish my icontest icons. And then, I'll write Kahofic. Jesus, I can't believe I like Kaho and Eriol/Kaho now. Nnnnng.

I never noticed that! XD Kaho grew on me while re-reading, too. I like her a lot more than I used to.

I did notice the parallels because I've read the Sakura arc 3476 times or something.

Ahahahaha, that's so great. They have both the "inocent-yet-not-smile" perfected.

Also: I like Kaho and Eriol/Kaho now. Nnnnng.

Great, that makes five the people who like Kaho in this fandom now.

I think there might be a chance of Eriol training Kaho personally before she returned to Japan. "Come on, your grin is lacking some of it! You must mentalize on 'I cannot quite understand why you're looking at me that way, good chap!' while you're at it. Do it with feeling! You know it's completely not true, but you have to make them think that way! Let's try again once more, and then we'll move on to all-purpose cryptic phrases."

And...

"Now, that's better, but lean your head while you're at it. It makes it more convincing, trust me."

I don't mind Kaho anymore, so much. I mean, back when I was a Tomoyo/Eriol shipper I hated her, but noe I've realized that there may be a Kurogane in CCS world just waiting for Tomoyo...*sigh*

Hey, if everyone else can ship Kurogane/Fai, I can ship an alternate-reality, hopefully-closer-in-age Tomoyo/Kurogane.
Sorry about the delete then post-someone called at exactly the wrong time.

Oh, it's not about E/T or alter!Kuromoyo (although I loathe both ships with a burning passion and I fail at grasping their appeal) or altershipping (*has written alter!non-magical!married!Clow/Yuuko*)

It's the way you typed it. I don't know if it was your purpose or not, but it sounds awfully a lot like the fanbrats who ship Kuromoyo because they don't want either or both of them to be gay or bisexual. "It's okay if Eriol doesn't smexes Tomoyo up... AS LONG AS KUROGANE, WHO IS A MALE WITH A PENIS, saves her from teh lesbianism!!!"

I apologize if it wasn't your intention or if it's definitely not your opinion. However, the way you formuled your comment triggered several biases, so I could only think an immediate "EWW GET AWAY FROM ME".

Oh, I believe you it came out wrong-I just looked back at it and YEAH it seems a little...off.
Frankly, I've never minded that Tomoyo likes Sakura. It's always made me a little sad in fact that Tomoyo didn't get anyone to love her in CCS, Sakura or otherwise. As for Kurogane/Fai, I don't really care, I just don't see the appeal in the relationship-but then again I've never seen TRC as a really heavy romance-filled manga, even between Syaoran and Sakura.
The reason I ship alter!Kuromoyo is because I like the way Kurogane is so devoted to Tomoyo. I know they wouldn't work out in TRC for a whole lot of reasons, many of which are completely and utterly gross, but I think it would be nice that somewhere they could work out. Tomoyo's always taking care of everyone else, it would be nice for her to have the protective type for a lover.
But here I'm just a romantic fool...

Personally I can't understand the need to pair a character out when he or she was left single and/or lacking available love interest in canon. Especially if the character was in their teens or preteens, because they'll have a lot of time to find someone, and chances are it's not going to be anyone from the cast.

I don't know. I don't ship several of my favorite characters in some fandoms with anyone, and I wouldn't feel sorry for them if they never have a Romantic Experience in their canon life.

Kaho, Kaho, Eriol/Kaho♥~~ Dang, I really want to dig out the Eriol/Kaho fic I never had time to work on and actually try working on it again. XD

One of my favourites is still the Valentines subtleness later on. =3

It's not THAT subtle when you've been spoiled're paying attention to details. Especially after the "ah, your old Math teacher... *obscured face* I wish I could've meet her... er, let me change the subject now"

I can't remember exactly whose journal I wandered through to find yours, but a fellow E/K shipper, who wrote a wonderful essay about the Eriol-tachi! Hurrah! After I read the manga, I fell in love with Kaho, her relationship with Eriol, and the whole crew bound for England. Their dynamics are fascinating, there's so much possibility, and they are a sweet if slightly dysfunctional bunch. When I do write for CCS, which is rare these days with school, they're about all I write.

E/K fans, and Kaho fans in general, seem to be rare, so it's always good to know there are more. :)

An Eriol-tachi essay? Do you mean [livejournal.com profile] ayasugi_san's?

Well... I disliked Kaho for years, but it was some fanbrat bias that sticked with me. I guess I just didn't like anime!Kaho, and I used to be more into anime until a couple of years ago. After I bought the first arc on paper again this year and reread the manga, I finally understood how Kaho is and how much she made sense with Eriol and her group.

I've been meaning to read your fics for years, but I'm really lazy; I haven't even read my friends' fics for months!

(Uh, and we do kinda know each other. I had a rename token: I used to be hiragizawa, the clumsy writer who posted Eriol genfic -and one anime!Eriol/Naoko when they were my crack pairing- at the Shrine.)

[identity profile] artyartie.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, her too. ;) I realized my goof right after I posted. LJ really needs to let you edit comments!

There is such a difference between anime and manga!Kaho. I didn't like her at all in the anime and once I read the manga, I was one of her biggest fans. She's just so much warmer, with all-too-human flaws, instead of being an aloof, perfect ice princess.

It's so hard, trying to keep up on everyone's fic! I get in moods where I read religiously, and then I slack off for months, so no worries. :)

Now I know why you seem familiar! It's hard to keep up with journal changes. And as big a E/K fan as I am, I could see Eriol/Naoko. It's just those rabid E/T fans....*shakes her head*

When I read the manga for the first time, I didn't pay a lot of attention to Kaho for my own bias; so I thought the big main difference was goofy SD faces, and since everyone got them anyway... Then it didn't help that I only owned from volume 6 and up, so it kinda got lost along the way. Kinda sad, but the story has a happy ending. Or at least it's a happy ending when this motivates me enough to write my first serious WIP O_o

It was just strange to go from Aloof Ice Queen to Dorky Kinda Eriol-lite.

Nah, no big worries ^^ There was no obvious reason for you to make the connection between hiragizawa and amewarashi. I was just telling you so you wouldn't get too excited over a "new" Eriol-tachi fan when it's just the same people but with a new point of view on canon XD

I can see anime!Eriol/Naoko, but not manga!Eriol/Naoko (or manga!Eriol/anyone-in-elementary-school for that matter). E/T and their fans will always boggle my mind in several degrees.
