The guilt is on my brothers who put me this flash animation of You are a Pirate. I had the stupid song stuck in my head for a week.

Also, I'm watching PotC 2 (in pirate because it's not on theaters yet, harharhar!) today.

Also, I'm starting to read One Piece.

So, this is a very pirate-y post, savvy me hearties?

Considering my RP plots and Artemis Fowl books and pirates in general are keeping me busy, no wonder I haven't commented on TRC 124. However, I'm sort of glad Subaru looks like his TB self, even though he looks like he was dressed up by Anne Rice (so, are we interrogating clone!Syaoran from the wrong perpective? /joke). I miss Hokuto so much. She must be in some dimension, having cake and whining to Eriol -who's also stuck there- because they're not making an appearance ever. I'm very nervous for Fye and Kurogane, of course, because who knows what CLAMP will make Yuuko to ask Kuro to save him from ded-from-clone/suicide.

Oh, and new pet peeves in the fandom on the reactions this week:

a) "leik omg kurofai is sooooooo like donuts and rikuou/kazahaya lol!"

Actually, er, no. I can see where the R/K = D/W comes from, and a lot of D/W fangirls are also F/K shippers or viceversa so with the eyes the comparisons are expected. But I don't see how the fuck R/K = F/K! They're nothing alike!

b) "i'm so angry!! k now i truly HATE clone!Syaoran because how DARE he HUMILLIATE Sakura-chan-hime and refuse her love and made her cry!!11!"

I swear to God I've seen this more than once! Yes, I headdesked a lot and now my computer table has marks on the wood. So it's A-OK for you to butcher Fye's face with his teeth, but he absolutely can't be mean to teh holee Sakura? Bitch, please.

c) "subaru/kamui is canon lol!"

Nothing against S/K, first of all. But how is putting your head on your twin brother's shoulder an official proof you're totally getting buttsex from him, again?

Bah, why do I bother. I'm getting flashbacks of the batshit Elricest slashers just by trying to use this logic again.

Oh, and Doumeki's grandpa, Haruka, is teh creepy because I can't get used to seeing a replica of Shizuka's face going "lol ^_^" It's almost like a visual image of badfic!fanon!Doumeki.

Back to pirates, then.

ETA: Yay Yuki/Machi! But when are we getting ToriMayu and GureAki, Takaya?

As much as I hate the reaction in b... I think that was CLAMP's intention. The ultimate proof to convince the fanbrats that Clone!Shaoran doesn't have a heart is that he doesn't even care for Sakura anymore. Since she was his most important person and all of that.

The rabid Kuro/Fye shippers scare the hell out of me. "Yay! Things are going HORRIBLY HORRIBLY WRONG but it's okay because we have subtext!"

a) This is a lovely example of how insane fans sound to people outside the fandom. Donuts? What? Is that a pairing?

b) I hope they're just having a difficult time articulating, "This character incites anger in me and, therefore, is well-written." Any other type of character hate (besides finding a character very, very annoying) is incomprehensible to me, and by "incomprehensible," I mean "stupid."

c) Hahaha, I love the canon/fanon wars. Nowadays, I don't care if my 'ships are canon or fanon. Kurei/Joker from Flame of Recca is my OTP, but I recognize that all the blatant billboard-in-your-face-declaring-their-love-for-each-other subtext (if you can call it that) could simply mean that they're friends, which is worthy of such strong subtext because neither has any. Canon? Probably not. Maybe so. It's too ambiguous.

So twin brothers having head-shoulder contact, eh? I think there's quite a ways to go before that can be considered a canon relationship.

Donuts is a ship name: Doumeki/Watanuki from XXXHOLiC. No, not even the shippers get where that came from. It seems a fan was mocking HP ship names, particularly the obsolete Pumpkin Pie, and came up with Donuts in a sarcastic, random kind of way. But it sticked, unfortunately.

I'm really glad that CLAMP didn't take the easy way out and have Sakura's 'wuv' for Syaoran and his love for her break him out of his singleminded drive for feathers. The solution to this problem isn't going to be simple... which will hopefully drag out the plot a little longer. Yeah! New plot is awesome! Also, no one seems to have pointed out that Sakura has bloodied up her hands hiting them against the barrier... she deserves at least a little physical pain in this comic.

I'm worried about what Kuro's price for Fai's life will be also. I'm afraid it's going to be more than what it would realistically cost, since he just needs stabilization and a blood transfusion. (I'm not sure how much surgery they actually did on his eye socket, but they stopped the bleeding.) Watch Yuuko jack up the price for a world transfer and a decent EMT.

I love One Piece... but I think I've actually fallen out of the fandom. 40+ manga volumes and I really don't think VIZ is going to release them all... call it a hunch. I also don't have room to buy all the books (I have the first 5 books in japanese from... 5 years ago?) I still love the manga though.

Yo también estoy empezando a leer One Piece, aunque el número de capítulos es algo descorajador. De momento voy por el capítulo cuarenta, pero al menos la historia es bastante amena.

Paso de los comentarios de TRC porque aún intento no leermelo por internet. Dudo que dure mucho, más que nada porque creo que ya he leído todos los spoilers posibles.
