taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Kujaku / Dream within a dream)

Like Spock? Yes, like Spock

Random fangirlisms I had pending:

  1. Steamboy. I actually liked the movie more than I thought I would. The plot *was* on the "whut" side, but at least it was eye candy.
  2. .
  3. Laputa. Made of win! Then again, it's Ghibli. Air pirates! Flying city! Robots! A 'speshul' princess who doesn't suck! See how Miyazaki can send the "technology for wars sucks" message better than Otomo, a lot of years before him.

  4. RG Veda omakes. Some of them can be found at [livejournal.com profile] rg_veda, but the posts are locked since they're scans from the Tokyopop volumes. I hadn't seen most of them, and they're utter CRACK! :D

  5. Pratchett. I think Interesting Times has become my favorite book from the Rincewind series. It has so many things I like! The butterfly effect (literally, with actual butterflies), alive computers, the power of names, a parody of old China and Japan. And of course, characters such as all the wizards, the Luggage, Twoflowers, Veterinari, Cohen the barbarian, and so on. Yuuko would've LOVED this book.

  6. Heroes: I watched both episodes between last night and today, and I'm obsessed now! Fuck Lost, this one has so much potential and at least it's more amusing without sacrificing the creepy factor. And this way, I finally can enjoy an American superpowers story without buying 23537 comic book issues, which is pretty good. I like a lot of characters, but I'm not going to deny my favorite is Hiro, supergeek extraordinaire, because he makes me laugh with his dorkiness. Anyway, I have to wait until Monday for 1x03? Not fair! *whines*

I love Heroes! It is such a great show!

Hiro is my favorite too. He's such a cute little comic book dork. The second episode got me upset cause he got in trouble and I was like "NO! HIRO IS INNOCENT!"

*hugs Hiro*

My reaction to that scene was "are you dumb, dude?! you DON'T pick up guns found in the middle of a blood puddle, let alone a crime scene! your fingerprints will be all over it!" Then again, I love detective stories and that's the most basic common sense on those fandoms. Incidentally, the NBC website has some fake blog of Hiro just for the lulz (anime smilies, Japanese-to-English babelfish'ed text, and geek references all over it), and they had the character writing something like "attention gamers: while in videogames you always pick up weapons on the floor, doing that in real life is a BAD idea." *snerk* Dork.

Ah, I saw the omakes when [livejournal.com profile] drachenaugen lent me her Norma volumes. ^_^ Did you see the one with Ryuu's family? It's the best thing ever.

Although the one where they're cops is a close second. :P

Yeah...I watched it with my friends and we basically had the same reaction. But then we saw that the dead guy had his head sawed off an we're like "How do you accused him of that when has a gun and the guy has his scalp COMPLETELY OFF!"

Oh well...where is this blog? LInk! I want to read the dorkiness!

I meant the gags, not the serious ones. The backstory stuff has scanlations. Also, the person is slowly scanning them, so I haven't seen them all.

I've seen the cops one XD

Dunno, check NBC.com?

Also, that doesn't MEAN it might be any canon. And it doesn't even feel like the character, but some 15 year-old "otaku" fanbrat impersonating him and giving Hiro pepperjack cheese. Until Hiro doesn't mention, dunno, Final Fantasy or the animanga the blogger says he watches, I'm not taking it seriously. But the gun quote was comedy gold.

Hmm...maybe..but it IS on the nbc.com website...so I dunno.

But you're right...we'll have to see.

I remember the Ryuu one made me laugh a lot, but I don't remember if it was set up with the gag ones or with the backstory. Hmmm...

Well, like I said I still haven't seen them all, so I might as well never read that one and confused it with something else. I don't remember laughing about anything regarding Ryuu-oh.

I love Pratchett. Pure crack, pure gold. Yuuko would have definitely thought they were funny, if she got the Brit humor. I know some people who don't get Brit humor.

I wasn't talking about humor, but the symbolism and random HOLiC references in that novel.

Whether Yuuko likes British humour or not, it's clear she already suffered it. Or at least half-British humour.

Ah, they just posted it! ^_^ It's omake 5.

And I didn't remember 4. That one is sooo true.

No, I never saw that one!

AWWWWWWWW! New parental OTP! (I soooo didn't expect Ryuu-papa to be so cute and adorable, and the contrast with Ryuu-mama is just awesome [by the way, WTF happened to him? is he dead? how did he die??) I loved it when Naga goes and asks his cousins if all families are the same, and they're all like "... o_oU"

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2006-10-07 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
by the way, WTF happened to him? is he dead? how did he die??
I want to know that too... or, well, I'm not sure I *really* want to know given how people die in that series. But it was never explained and I'm curious. :/

Seriously, his parents are just as OTP for me as Kurogane's. They're so adorable. ^_^
