My thoughts on yaoi... in shounen manga

A post in clamp_rants was going about how a manga being shounen =/= no gay in it. Of course, it's ridiculous. Hell, my first shounen manga had a very blatant gay guy as one of the baddies. I never shipped him with his crush because I liked the other guy's canon pairing, but there was no way in hell (heh) any fanboy could deny that one-sided gayness anyway. Then again, Kamatari of the scythe was a poster boy for the Aerosmith song "Dude looks like a lady".

So, let's do some meta discussion.
1) What shounen manganime (or any other fandom that, if it were Japanese, would be classified as shounen) from the ones you like have canon gay/lesbian/bi characters? And when I say canon gay, I mean actual love/crushes/flirts to people from the opposite sex. Not androgynous or reeeeeally suspicious character traits or strong subtext.
2) What canon gay couples in shounen do you ship?
3) What non-canon pairings do you slash in shounen?

For me:
1) There's Rurouni Kenshin (for Kamatari), Evangelion (for Kaworu), and FMA (for Garfiel XD). There's probably more, but from the top of my head... Oh, and I used to like Bleach, in which there were a couple of lesbians.
2) I like Kaworu/Shinji, but in manga. Damn you Sadamoto, you bought me!
3) I'm so going to be laughed at XD This is crack, okay? I know it. Ryoga/Mousse in Ranma 1/2 (blame the Herb saga) and Soujirou/Kamatari in RK (what? it WOULD be hot if Kamatari gets over the Shishio jealousy!)

1) Is DN Angel shounen? Or Angelic Layer? XD;; Uhm... What you mentioned, Ruroken, Eva, Shaman King, Dragon Ball (the guy that hits on Trunks comes to mind XD;;), uhm... Yu Yu Hakusho had one minor chara, I think, unless you count Kurama and Hiei. Well, and Kurama's gay, Togashi said so. Blood the Last Vampire, the manga, had a lesbian couple... OH! I"s!!! Jun Koshinae, my fav chara from it, is GAAAAY and in love with their teacher 8D And with Seto, but that's not 100% canon. Saint Seiya has quite a strong subtext for pairings, and Shun's gay cause Kurumada said so many, many times.

2) Kaworu/Shinji~ And Koshinae/whoever he wants, cause the poor kid's so cute he needs some love.

3) Koshinae/Seto from I"s, Hiei/Kurama from Yu Yu (and maybe Yousuke/Kuwabara), Ed/Al from FMA, Trunks/Goten from DB, Saitou/Sano from RuroKen, Hanamichi/Rukawa from SD ♥, Ikki/Shun or Shun/Hyoga from Saint Seiya (and the twins from the Asgard saga!), if Angelic and DnAngel count, then Ichirou/Ogata and Daisuke/Dark/Krad/Satoshi, you can mix those up.

I don't really watch SS except sometimes for the lulz (either I'm messed up or this shounen is ridiculous, but I'm always LMAO during the "tragic" scenes XD), but that's the Andromeda saint, right? The pink armor one? Oh, so it WAS a canon thing and not the fandom reaction to girly guy + crying a lot...

But yeah, the subtext is really, um, something. And the opening sequence in Cartoon Network Spain, with the butt-crotch-thighs close-ups won't help.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one XD But I really dislike SS, it makes my inner mythology geek cry.

As for Shun, yeah, the author confirmed it. But it wasn't just girly guy + crying a lot, anyway. More like this:

Girly guy + crying a lot + getting female armors (Andromeda and Virgo) + "Te daré mi calor, Hyoga!" *abraza*

Oh, please, the tragic scenes are SO ridiculous XD;; Or the random crying, like when Ikki comes back after dying the first time and they're ALL crying like idiots. I was all "WTF I get Shun crying, or Saori, or even Seiya cause he's the main chara and all. But WHY are Hyouga and Shiryuu crying?!?!" XD;; They barely knew each other.

And I just rememebered you said you didn't really know it 8D Nevermind XD;
