Something else to "thank" CLAMP for

Re: The Avatar cracky school clip going around.

I think the Horitsuba dramas jaded me. Now I seem to be incapable of seeing canon high school AUs like something silly. I had to be pointed out this one is a parody, because I truly thought the creators made this chibifest for fanservice and shipper bait's sake. Thinking more carefully, yeah, they truly did it for the lulz. But I failed to see that.

Oh, and chibis in anime don't seem to have an effect on me. For that, however, I don't blame CLAMP but BONES and their FMA "OVAs". They even look kinds ridiculous to me. I'm going to see those damned chibis in Avatar icons forever, aren't I?

But anyway, GIP. Because school counselor!Iroh was IC and the win, and his new VA sounds perfect.

Change of subject.

You know, my main email account's spam mail is becoming too weird. I mean, besides the offers for viagra, low financial rates, PS3's, and sex, the rest is... I don't know, the subject lines look like the sender was on crack or they just babelfished it from a random language. Even the average Engrish has more grammar than this. Some samples I've saved:

Go by buddhism <- they had enough of Christian propaganda
Or in moll <- yay prostitution!
typist <- ...?
As by ferrous <- iron content is important
He retaliate he kane <- ...I got nothing
On satan on poynting <- "Dammit, Satan! Stop pointing at people, it's rude!"
Or centum is marriageable <- good to know a family of languages is single
It so concretion <- yes, it so
Not mana to tyranny <- that's right, Egypt, you get no mana /Biblical
Which monad so burglarproof <- monads are too small to be robbed
A ecology it under <- "under the sea, under the sea..."
by fight of cafeteria <- the fight belongs to the cafeteria, unlike Duklyon in which the fight was FOR the cafeteria

RLY. They're actual spam emails I've gotten. I'll save more stupidity as I get it.

You have to admit that the chibi!Giant Serpent from the Serpent's Pass was adorable.

... the spam you get is faaar weirder than mine. o.O

You know, I usually find chibis a bit creepy. Including these. ^_^U But the clip cracked me up, and Counselor!Iroh was a stroke of genius.

My favourite part is still the random Haru/Ty Lee, though. FTW.

The Avatar short reminded me of the FMA OVA too. I actually don't like chibis much either. It is like they try too hard to make them cute but they end up just looking sort of freaky.

Iroh as a Guidance Counselor was also my favorite part. Especially since he was drawing tea on his paper. Tearoh (Iroh & Tea) is totally my OTP in Avatar. XD

Someone iconned the tea drawing here (http://community.livejournal.com/avatar_fans/1501061.html#cutid1). Sadly, there's no icon-love for Haru/Ty Lee there...

I thought that Katara ending up with the Blue Spirit while Zuko looked on in dismay gave it away completely

The creators are awesome at poking fun at the shippers. There's an example linked here (http://ayasugi-san.livejournal.com/201781.html?thread=765493#t765493); the first video is far more amusing than the second. The creators even know about name-smush pairing schemes, squee!
