I don't know about Sandman. It hasn't immediately jumped at me like other things people mentioned in my flist (the Earthsea books, Pratchett, etc.) and that's why I still haven't read it. I'd give it a try without any second thoughts if I could get it from a library, but that's not happening so I always doubt. :/ It's the same with George RR Martin - I want to give them a try, but then I don't want to spend so much money without being absolutely sure I'll like them.
