In TV Tropes, the article on Big Fancy House anime cliché.

Two characters in Card Captor Sakura have big houses; the less fancy one belongs to the Kinomoto family (Sakura's dad is a famous archeologist; Mom was a famous model). Tomoyo Daidouji, being the daughter of a toy-company CEO (her mom), lives in a classic Big Fancy House; Tomoyo's bedroom is bigger than the entire second floor of Sakura's house.

Two characters, they say.

Okay then, this is the Kinomoto household:



I admit it looks rather roomy for a college teacher/investigation-oriented archaeologist, and really nice for a middle class family. But pleeeeeeeeease. It doesn't stand a fucking chance.

Now Daidouji's mansion...



To this I have nothing to object, because it's the first damn thing I thought about when I read the article.

But again, TWO BIG HOUSES? Just TWO?!

Clow manor, bitches. If the Kinomoto house classifies as Big House, then this one fucking does as well.

Damn, that's right! He lives in a rather spacy traditional house alone. (Best cap I found without making a huge search)



But I still think it's not the same level, because the others win area by the two, even three floors their houses have. Still, it could compete with the Kinomotos' easily.

Now, for living space that must be a bitch to keep clean, Kaho wins them all. She was raised in a SHRINE with several buildings, a forest, and even a lagoon. I pity the priest and the mikos who have to maintain Tsukimine. Fun times.

*facepalm* I totally forgot about that one! But yeah, it looks like thia (http://www.desertmoon.org/screencaps.php?series=cardcaptor&ep=16&page=60&limit=20), and it's just a country house for the holidays. The anime version even had a TENNIS COURT (http://www.desertmoon.org/screencaps.php?series=cardcaptor&ep=16&page=140&limit=20), WTF. I shudder to think how the real Amamiya manor must be like O_O

But you know, Nadeshiko's grandpa was old and un-bishie! Nobody remembers those characters! (I sort of do, most of the times, but I was just limiting myself to main characters and I forgot)

It was probably so big, CLAMP didn't have room to draw it on one double page! XD And the animation budget didn't stretch far enough for it ^_^

The only thing remarkable about that movie was Sakura and Tomoyo wearing Chinese clothes! Anything else didn't happen! Trufax.

Personally, since it was in a filler movie I can sort of understand the person who wrote that article didn't know about the Li mansion, but Eriol's house? Dude, it's all over the Sakura arc, it appears more than Tomoyo's!

I was being sarcastic about it :P Well, at least they got something right ^^ It's normally too much to ask to animators.

I'm hoping who put this in that wiki is a casual fan who didn't get past season 1, and probably was a Tomoyo fanboy. Honestly, it's like almost everybody else's house is larger than Sakura's. Compared to the Daidoujis/Amamiyas and the Lis and Eriol's magical family, Sakura is even poor in the Ouran sense of the word.

Dude, when they demolished Eriol's house in the anime, they built an AMUSEMENT PARK. Talk about big.

I still don't know WTF was that all about: it was big, but not that big. I'm assuming Clow just owned the whole hill besides the house, which makes sense if he's going to turn his garden into an Impressionist-esque nest of flowers with winged creatures hanging around: you don't want neighbors to see THAT.

More proof they never watched the whole series! In the anime he was pretty important in his faculty and all, but famous. Hell, I don't even know of any famous modern archaeologists IRL. Do they even exist outside of the career limits?

The whole second movie was a thing of WTF. I think owning the whole hill is the best explanation.

I'm pretty sure that archaelogists are only famous in their own circle unless they find out something ridiculously huge. I can't think of anyone more or less modern right now, hmmm...

But even if they find something, people outside the circle will only know about the discovery. They're not going to remember the guys' names. College students majoring in that and academics, yeah. Anyone else, don't think so. Not even the ones who read National Geographic, mind you.
