Well well, I'll be screwed
I've been at my mom's until today. You know, it sucks a lot when there's only one computer in the house (I didn't bring the laptop as it was just a couple days), and it's so wanted there are timed turns for it. Blame it on World of fucking Warcraft. So, sorry I've been absent these days and forgot to post on your memes. I DID read my emails and flist, but since I resorted to surfing on the Wii to avoid queues, I passed on commenting D:
1. The console will get dusty again:
I just noticed I forgot my PS2's memory card in Ale's room x_x I'm not going over there until next Saturday. I guess I'll have to settle without rolling Katamaris this week and shit.
2. And I missed wank again:
a) Hahaha, MsScribe redux! I wonder if the troll at the wank report was truly her (I didn't check the whole thing because damn, that's long shit)
b) Honestly? I think GJ did well by limiting the icon limit. Those were way too much, and maybe if they stop deleting unused icons I might consider using my account.... some day.
c) I don't know what to say about the passive-agressive Pepsi v-gift attack towards LJ. That was weird stuff.
3. I'm so going to regret this website bunny:
You know, I've been thinking about opening a tiny Okami fansite. More than the gaming itself and cheats, I'm thinking about metainfo dumps and not-that-illegal media (like artbook scansand good screencaps, if my DVD fanbook arrived any day now) and a collection of links. Also, installing a fic archive. I've seen an eFiction plug-in with Coppermine that'd let the users to add fanart, too. I'm still dubious, though, because I so know people could upload other people's art, especially Japanese, and take praise for it without anyone noticing.

The real original reason involved sequel fics and Mary Sues...I'm not sure how it happened, but Eriol grew on me. I like to write about that kind of character with dodgy yet noble motivations from whom we don't know a lot about until the ending, and there are still holes in their story anyway. But back to Eriol, as he's one of the characters I'm more attached to, it was obvious I'd start writing fic with him. At the beginning it was to fill plotholes (be anime or manga), and then I just liked to explore him and have fun with his family.b) He's a nice, wise guy even if he doesn't show it. He has a strange sense of humor, which I find very British of him. He is creepy, but not in a bad way; he's actually an interesting kind of creepy. He truly cares about people and doesn't quite like to hurt them, but prefers to show it with details and ambiguous actions than saying it aloud.
He's not evil ;____;c) The shyness and mystery makes it hard to relate to him. He's technically so old, every pairing might come as psychological pedophilia somehow. Anime!Eriol seems a bit crueler, so that gave him a bad rep in the fandom.
d) It used to be surprisingly easy, which is odd considering I'm nothing like him. But since I also find Ushiwaka from Okami easy to write, I guess I just click with the archetype. However, I'm suffering from a block now so I can't write him right now for my life D: Which is awful since I also roleplay him.
e) Dreaming of black wings (http://community.livejournal.com/kitsune_epics/9588.html#cutid1) has his serious side well done.
f) Like I said, I'm RPing him so that'd be the priority. I'll continue Out of the Ordinary, my WIP, and I want to do drabbles focused on the Eriol-tachi.

b) He's complex and interesting. He's contradictory. He's a dork. Actually, most of what I said about Eriol above apply here.
c) There's no fucking way to tell if you're writing him IC. His Tsubasa canon is so gonna give me a headache, when it's revealed.
d) It's hard. I try to take my characterizations of Eriol and Fujitaka, mix them, and add more quirk. I'm not sure if that works at all. Maybe it doesn't?
e) Like I said, most of my fics are silly fluff, AUs, or snark sessions with Yuuko, so they don't really show the character. I do like how Wings on her back, twice (http://community.livejournal.com/kitsune_epics/13518.html) turned out.
f) I have dusty plotbunnies, but nothing I'm truly planning to write down.

[rant at the world in general]The GJ thing is making me feel a lot of Schadenfreude, because I told people that it's not true that other blogging sites aren't automatically better than LJ. I mean, it's not that GJ is being evil or anything, it makes sense. A lot of new users = fewer free icons, or else it'd cost them a lot more. I never liked GJ that much, and the holier than thou attitude from the users is annoying. So I didn't want to say it, but now that you mention Schadenfreude... I also felt it XDDDDDD 1K/2K icons don't compensate the ugly and unfriendly design, or the server's purgings, or the mandatory ads. I always thought it was shitty, and that people only liked it for the gazillion icon slots without paying a cent, and the apparent lack of supervision. And now that they took both things back... yeah. But it was bound to come.

a) Uh, I don't? All my fics with him are either the AU crap, or crossovers. I adore him, but I'm almost unable to write genfic with him (and mind you, it's pretty hard to write HOLiC genfic that isn't introspection and/or crossover). Pairing fic is out of the question because duh, I don't ship him. I only write him for crack or cracky fluff, trufax.
b) I like how honest and straight-forward he is. He's a sweety even if he doesn't seem the type. His earlier bad temper is not a positive trait, but it's something I love in him. He grows, and that's also great.
c) He's a fucking masochist. At least he's growing out of it, but that still gives me some occasional headaches.
d) I find it easy. Then again, I'm moody myself. What's kind of hard it's to write him out of the shock-anger-yelling cliché all the time. It's something you gotta use with moderation, especially if it's current!Watanuki.
e)
Not counting Kimihiro ReedI truly have no idea? I like how he turned out in the CCS crossovers, but I'm not sure if he's IC in them. Strangely enough, my favorite renditions of Wata is the one about the Flying Spaghetti Monster (http://community.livejournal.com/kitsune_epics/8623.html#cutid2) and the drabble with Mugetsu (http://amewarashi.livejournal.com/142543.html#cutid1).f) There are two plans. One involves him inside a certain Moving Castle in Ingary, as you know. The other involves him being saved from ayakashi by a white wolf with interesting red markings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckami).

b) Uh, I liked him when I read Tokyo Babylon, he was all cute and naive. His empathy. I thnk that's pretty much it.
c) Angstbulance. Practically everything post-Rainbow Bridge.
d) Hella hard. I mean er, I wrote him in an AU in which he was a vet college student and there was no onmyoudo. If that doesn't scream that I can't write him, I don't know what does.

b) I love that he's silly and takes advantage of people quickly. But also, he's cunning and noble and determined. There's so much more of him of what you see outside. And he doesn't act all superior just because he was born in royalty, although this is a trait Mei also shares.
c) WTF was he thinking on chapter 54?!? Trying to understand that decision leaves me with such a headache...
d) Hard. I find Lan Fan easier because she's transparent while Ling isn't entirely. I'm never sure if he's OOC or not.
e) I've only written two fics and one drabble and I think they're all fine. I'm proud of A game of strategy (http://community.livejournal.com/52_flavours/53807.html#cutid1), even if I'm unsure in a couple of areas. The thing with Need for Greed (http://community.livejournal.com/kitsune_epics/8829.html#cutid2) is that it was written before the 55. I'm surprised how little it contradicted the real deal, though (in the end, he CAN be in control if he really tries ♥).
