And anime!Franz was awesome, when in the novel he started all interesting spying on the Count and shit, but then he disappeared only to be Valentine's temporary fiancé. Albert, I guess I like the same in both versions. Some improved anime versions of characters I like better, and some not so much.

But definitely, book!Edmond/Count can't be compared to anime!Count. And it's not only because he was the focus. His character was just more complex in the original version, unsurprisingly.
