Sorry, I don't find it nifty or cool, because Arakawa did it better. Three times. Kuro, I still love you, but Lan Fan was more hardcore than you. Hands down, pun not intended.

And also one thing we learned from Lan Fan: even if you, ninja you, sacrifice your arm so the idiot(s) you're protecting can escape death, said protégé is still able to fuck the group's plans up like whoa as soon as you turn around. Trufax and demonstrated.

The only interesting thing I can think is that the arm from Kuro-papa that we saw in the monster's mouth was also the left one. And that Kurogane's scar from Tomoyo was also in the left arm. I don't want to see the fandom's interpretation of that, because they'll twist to pure KuroFay vs. Kuromoyo stupidity, but it's almost cool. I mean, if I wasn't reading Fullmetal Alchemist and was used to allegoric loss of limbs.

Maybe Kurogane has a good reason for losing his arm. These are just spoiler bits after all.

But CLAMP just LOVES dismembering people don't they? And just when I thought 'Fay/Yuui's Hell' would be over...

Oh, I don't doubt he has a good reason (or from his character's point of view, that is; I'm having this feeling that Ohkawa wanted to end Teh Doomz with even moar shock value). It's just that I'm already in a fandom with arm/leg losses -all with good plot reasons and not shock values- and it's not original or devastating to me because I'm used to it.

Considering HOLiC and TRC are supposed to end at the same time, they probably are near. Or I hope so, because angst's dragging like a Dragon Ball Z battle.

It wouldn't annoy if it actually was useful. I don't know, I just have the same impulse to scream: "IDIOT! STOOOOOOOOOOP IT! NOBOBY IS THANKING YOU!" But I think I wouldn't like it if he wasn't like that either. (At least, no one chose to stay)
And yes, characters have been losing limbs since forever. There's probably some myth I'm not remembering right now.

Right now I can remember myths for missing eyes (Odin, particularly), but not missing arms.

Man, if not at least someone who isn't Mokona freak out over Kurogane's sacrifice, I'll be annoyed as hell. I think (spoiler goes here)!Syaoran will, and Sakura would when she meets him again. But you know what's the worse part? The one Kurogane missed the arm to save will probably stay in catatonic state and/or won't even apologize or thank him -hell, perhaps Fay is even getting more annoyed at him after that. SO FUCKING UNFAIR. And I don't even ship that shit anymore. It's like, is he wasting his time?

That's my problem: Fay will probably get madder at him, even if I think Sakura will freak out (pero no puede decir nada, ¿o no?). I mean, I liked the Kuro/Fay dynamic in earlier volumes, but now... the current Fay is the kind of character that annoys me the most: 'I want to die, but I won't!'. Just kill yourself already. Or enjoy life. Heck, at least stop hurting people in the process of emoing. Make a choice: deal with it or bear with it!
But I think it'd be OOC for Kuro if he didn't do it. I mean, he's the kind of character I see wasting his time like that.
I just hope that Fay comes to his senses quickly and realizes that yes, he has friends and he can somewhat happy. Come on, how many times how the other four showed him they didn't care about his past and that they loved him?

Mokona is about the only character in Tsubasa that isn't annoying me completely right now. That's so backwards and wrong. Did CLAMP suddenly realize that "oh look, we haven't maimed this character yet!" when they looked at Kuro?

What are the odds that Kuro would remain armless? I foresee Youko somehow getting him a new one. Half of the manga I read where some important character looses an arm, there's a way to replace it somehow. Lan Fan getting automail, Claire sticking on another Claymore's arm...

I really just want Tsubasa to go back to happy happy fun time. The angst was more fun when it was all in our heads.

I honestly believe they're doing it for shock value and to please the shippers honestly, if I still shipped Kurofay I would NOT be pleased either, but sadly most fans are, but I didn't say it in the post itself so it wouldn't be so wanky.

Yeah, but who knows what the price will be. Or they could try to look OMGoriginul and leave him armless for the woez.
