Good yesterday
No, really, it seems like almost every fucking fandom I love competed for attention and shook new canon at me. And mind you, I LOVED it. I had such an unproductive day, between this and
anime_lj_tcg silliness.
FUCKING AWESOME.
- From a narrative point of view they're stuff that you can kind of expect to happen, but it was still awesome to see.
- Cameorama!
- Yeah, the submarines were great, but the best battle element for me was the caterpillar tanks! :DDDD They were kind of cute.
- The fact that the invasion's dads (Hakoda, Teo's dad,...) are so lovely and smart and moving, in contrast to Ozai who is a bastard to Zuko.
- Speaking of which, OMG! Sure, I complained when he switched sides, but in the end it's obvious now that it had to be done that way so Zuko understands how things really are. Hell yeah, he finally grew some balls! Damn, too bad Iroh wasn't around to see this. I hope that when they meet again, Zuko apologizes deeply and thanks him. The old Zuko-Iroh father-son dynamics I love so much need to return like, yerterday.
- Azula, what a cunning bitch. Every time she pulls shit on people, every time I'm amazed.
- Yay Suki and Ursa's status! Not that it means they are still alive today, but... it's hopeful anyway D:
- Toph! You rock hard! \o/
- Sokka <3<3<3 He shone so much in so many aspects and I can't be happier. *bows*
- I really liked Aang in these last three episodes. Katara is right, he's grown so much
- I only poked the fandom a bit, and saw someone complaining because Katara didn't have enough screentime *rolleyes* To which I say 'fuck you'. Now, true, I did think that it was a bit silly to go and face a fire nation bunker without a waterbender besides Aang, but it's not like it was so important. And mind you, while Katara is a great character (although I confess she's the one from the quartet I like the least), I think it's fair the focus this time was on everyone BUT her. So far in the season she's had two episodes for herself in terms of character development (and she kind of stole half of Toph's spotlight on The Runaway). Aang also had two or three episodes. So yeah, I think it was bloody time Sokka and Toph proved themselves during the invasion, because they barely had one episode each, and they were always the ones feeling the less useful. Same with Zuko, who only got random scenes so far -plus the fanservice episode shared with the sister, the girlfriend, and the spunky one-, though I'll grant they were all meaningful and well planned. So Katara was holding her dad during the eclipse? DEAL AND SUCK IT.
- I wonder if the shipping wars are fueled already with this episode. Because yeah, there was the Kataang kiss, but there was also Zuko sorta breaking up with Mai and going directly where the Gaang is. I'm certain both sides must be all "NO, *WE* ARE CANON NOW" at each other. Oy.

XXXHOLiC IS BACK, ALL IS WELL.
Okay, kinda. The color images are lovely (the Yuuko illustration was pretty cool, although I'm hoping there's not a secret meaning into it, or that people pull epileptic trees or magnolia conspiracies* onto the mirror thing. I mean, CLAMP with mirrors or reflections... nnng)
It's great to have Watanuki chilling with his friends and everything is so cute ^___^ Now, what I'm not sure if it's that the hiatus made me forget, or if TRC is getting contagious and it never was explained well, but... I think I'm not able to tell apart which things are "dreams" and which are "reality". Defining reality as the plane of existence where Yuuko and Larg live (I'd like to say Himawari and Doumeki and Kohane and everyone else, but it's so messed up I'm not even sure if they're part of the dreams and don't exist or not). Can someone clear this shit up for me? ;.;
* Although well, there was this CCS illustration with a mirror, you know. My favorite Eriol one. It had Clow. It had MAGNOLIAS. *gets shot by the flist* Ah, just kidding here, but it's still amusing.
** Also, wasn't there an anime image, from one of the singles, that had Watanuki looking at his own reflection on a mirror? Of course, that one isn't manga, and it isn't remotely as cool as CLAMP ones.but still hotter than the Chii/Freya mirror thing, sry

I can't say a lot because I haven't read any translation yet, only
csakuras' summary. But I agree it's disturbing that Ed reduced his lifespan DDDD: I hope he doesn't decide to do anything stupid to shorten it further in a near future. But team Mei-Marcoh-Al-Yoki'sSneeze were kickass smart :D Of course, they're my Ishval boyfriend's notes and shit, but it's more remarkable to figure things out :3

By the way, I finally bought the manga I was pending:
-Eye gourmet nom nom Tsubasa #16
- Fullmetal Alchemist #09
Incidentally, this is what Editorial Norma chose: Lan Fan and Hu. Hurray! My OTP's names are written in my volumes as I write it! And I like Hu better than Who, LOL.

HOLiC: I'm having trouble with the different levels of reality too. Today I was wondering about the HOLiC/CCS/Kobato/GH/you-get-the-point world, as we've seen it so far... I think it has to be a reality, even if it's not Watanuki's reality. Mostly because the HOLiC world seems so rich. I mean, if CLAMP told me that CCS/Tomoeda is the product of
Clow'ssomeone's imagination, I could believe it because it's so small and "closed". But HOLiC gives me the impression of a very, very complicated world where both humans and spirits have lives that don't revolve around the main character. Not to mention how many series are involved. As much as I love dear Watanuki, I doubt he's important enough to be dreaming about 4 or 5 series at a time...But of course this is all just guessing, and who ever said CLAMP makes sense? There was that moment when he saw Himawari and Doumeki without him, though. I think it's possible that the *world* is real but *Watanuki's story* is a dream.
... or something. I'm not trying to guess. But, dude, this reminds me of the very first chapters and hoe I liked HOLiC because of the Ende vibe and asdfghjk;;;
FMA: I'm hoping "reducing his lifetime" means "oh, a couple days or so". DDD:

Gaaaaah, it's so fucking confusing!

I meant the bit when he sees them without the gloves he gave them, and it's sort of like they didn't know him. That makes me think the world itself would exist, with or without Watanuki.
I might be the only one in the fandom who thinks so, but if they pull it off well, I don't think it would suck if Doumeki, Himawari et al. are a dream. I like different levels of reality in my fiction, and like Watanuki himself says, that doesn't make it less important. But then again I got hooked because of the Ende-Gaarder stuff. ;P

I meant it would suck in mindfuck levels: it's not something you can see hinted in early volumes, so it's not something you'd expect until they throw this stuff at you on volume what, 10 or 11? It would be cool if CLAMP decide to explain themselves well and doesn't fix any plotholes produced by the mindfuck with deus ex machinas. It would've been splendid if it was something reflected somehow from the beginning by hints. I agree that, if well done, a story with your best friends/love interests and your existence being an illusion has potential to be awesome. But again, this is CLAMP and this is related to TRC. If it wasn't crossover galore with TRC, I could've trusted in them to pull it off. I get this dread it could end up all deep!emo in a Tokyo Babylon sort of way.

I'm more worried about the related-to-TRC thing, yes. But I'll wait until they actually finish the series to decide if I like the twist or not. Watanuki is controlling his very short emo already, so...

And you know Ursa's gonna be alive XD

I'm hoping we get to meet exiled Ursa :3

And I hadn't noticed the dads. It's so true.
Which goes back to my point with Voldie: Therapists Can Stop Dark Lords.
