Rereading CCS yay

So I was casually going through volume 5. And you know how Fujitaka couldn't go to the play, and Yukito and Touya were thinking it's a pity... It was a good thing he didn't go, looking back. Because if the Clow cards were powered by what they had left of Clow's magic, Dark probably wouldn't be able to swallow him. Of course, the characters could keep it quiet and his presence in the dark would remain a technical limbo, sort of like Touya (who most likely wasn't eaten by Dark... at least not from the beginning).

However, imagine it from the characters POV!

Yukito: How odd. The lights went out ^_^
Fujitaka: And it's awfully silent ^_^;
Touya: ...WTF *facepalm*

Oh, and little tidbit from the Spain translation.

Li: Lo sabía... Te dije que [Mizuki-sensei] no era una cualquiera.

Now, heh. The translation of what they tried to say would be "I knew it... I told you Mizuki-sensei wasn't normal/a nobody/your average Jane". However, it might also mean: "I told you Mizuki-sensei wasn't a whore". Cualquiera means any/anything/anyone. When talking about a female, saying she's "una cualquiera" in slang is saying she sleeps around with anyone.

SO. LI SYAORAN HAS JUST CONFIRMED KAHO IS NOT A WHORE XDDDDD

XDDD Poor Touya.

Actually, CLAMP was pretty smart about that. I once started rereading the whole thing to see if some Cards affected Fujitaka or if they did a they-never-meet thing like with Kero and Yukito, and turns out the only Card that he sees in action is Flower, where it doesn't matter that he's half Clow because she affects everyone anyway. Good move, CLAMP.
ext_387179: A sea turtle swimming (Teddie / That was amazing!)

I miss the days it all looked carefully planned instead of improvised D: (not saying they didn't plan the main things in TRC/HOLiC from the beginning, but some crap just looks like they decided it at 2:00 am while drinking martinis with lots of giggling. or maybe it's my personal impression... or maybe they just don't deliver it in a thoughtful way...)

It's still amazing to notice this, especially when you watched the anime first like me. There really aren't contradictions of any kind about Fujitaka's origins!

Me too! D: I mean, there are some things in CCS that look decided at 2:00 am too, but at least they fit with the rest of the canon.

But I'll wait until TRC/HOLiC are complete to make a proper judgement. When I read RG Veda I thought it was the most WTF thing I'd ever seen until I read the ending, so... *clings to a tiny hope*
