I know at least three persons on my flist love Monkey Island. I found this flash animation summing up the first game ^^

Am I the only one who thinks there's something really fucked up about the city the Ace Attorney games are suppose to take place in? It's like, do cops do anything at all? Or are they all either lame or rotten corrupt? (Disclaimer: I love Gumshoe as a person, but seriously, he's slowwwww)

And I don't mean it because of the murder cases, no. Actually, I say it because of the non-murder things. I mean, so far I know the following people/organizations are roaming around and don't get punished in the end:
- Mafia
- Black market
- Hired assassins
- Phantom thieves
- Blackmailing galore (unless they happen to be the killer or the victim, that is, because then they'll die and shit)

I bet there are more kinds of delinquents (drug dealers, everyone? :D) But so far, what a bad impression. I wouldn't like to live in there... It's not like they're all busy with the murders or anything. The police chief only cares about Asian soups and emailing teenage girls. CREEPY. Funny, but creepy.

I guess I shouldn't be complaining, though. Because of things like double jeopardy and police lameness, my OTP got a happy ending! Yaaaaaaay.

And let's not forget all the perjury that happens in the Ace Attorney city courts! (I've heard that for the English localization that it's set in Los Angeles :|)

Welllll, considering every witness ever, including the main characters, keep committing perjury, I think it's already sorta mandatory to lie under oath by now! Hell, expecting the lies is pretty much the defense's job and getting them to lie is most of the prosecutors'. I guess they don't punish it strongly because it's now a tradition.
