Pimp my feet
Today's events can be described as "asahdghsagdjhg". Words can't express how exhausting shopping for shoes is. I really needed some boots, and they were my belated Christmas present from my mom (it was one of the few options that didn't make me look like a geek OR like I was wasting her money in Japanese drawing shit). Of course, shopping with my mom, no matter what it is, is just exhausting in nature, and with tons of stops. But it wasn't as bad as other times, and I went out of it with three pairs of comfortable boots plus one optical mouse plus a free lunch. I did buy her a belated birthday (it was last Wednesday) present now that we were at it, so I paid for one of the handbags she was eying. Probably the easiest yet better gift I've given her in years.
...And now she wants to get me pants/jeans to go with the new boots. Oh God no sdjhfjdshf.
I wonder who feels worse, her for having such a simple, non-coquette daughter, or me for having such a fashion-pushing, trend-whore of a mother.
I know it's really wrong to retroactively explaining stuff from old CLAMP manga using the new, less sensical ones, linked or not. This is because CLAMP surely gave a fuck or never thought about it. I'm guessing that Ohkawa's sleepless nights or bubble baths include more of ripping limbs for OTPing than trying to figure out ways to make the Gohou Drug/XXXHOLiC/Kobato magic systems compatible with what we saw on CCS. You know, sometimes I consider a miracle that they remembered to give Yuuko a sigil.
Still, Fool Wanker Reed is a little too clone-machine happy. And the more clones pop in, the more one particular scene comes to my mind to haunt me.

I never gave this scene a lot of thought, since magic is mysterious stuff you as an audience are not suppose to get anyway. He reincarnated, period. It doesn't matter how. Even today, I keep saying it doesn't. I can make as many conjectures as I want to, but we'll never get to know. We're not intended to know, and I'm fine with it. It's part of the magic.
...But yeah, the greatest matter here is... uh, matter. Did Clow just transfigured his own body mass in order to create two young versions of himself? If so, were there enough cells/components to do that? (LOL Hagaren, I blame you) Or did he make soulless copies of his body as vessels to use in his next lives? If so, what happened to his original body; did it just disintegrate in a fantasy fashion?
Just think about it. The second option sounds to me like it could've been self-clonation (with some differences from the original). Besides, real!Syaoran just made it clear that it's possible to seal a part of yourself in a clone of yours. Who's to say CCS-world's greatest sorcerer can't force his own soul to transcend to copies of himself? The different is, he perfectly knew it would work beforehand.

Aaargh, keep science away from CLAMP's works. D: After the "explanation" for Nataku being asexual I just go LA LA LA IT'S MAAAGIC for everything.
[scientist mode]I don't like words like "clone" in a magic setting. I really, really don't. I much prefer
About the actual post, though? I think it makes sense - well, not that CLAMP thought about it that way when they wrote CCS, but I do think they're taking random stuff from CCS and using it on TRC
sometimes without really thinking it through, IMHO. For example, look at the Final Judgement, where the threat was Sakura losing her memory (although he knew it wouldn't happen).no subject
And I'm sure FWR was all butthurt over the fact that Clow could make perfect 'replicas' (in a way, since it's not exactly a replica but a reincarnation e_e) and he had all those failed copies.

I guess, at the end of the day, the greatest plot device of all is MAGIC! XD

Oh wait! Japan doesn't have squirrels!
There goes my theory.
TRC has messed me up what with the "how can those two be twins as there are not.. warrrrgh!-" ness of it all. Genetics and biological science do not mix well with CLAMP.
