Oh, dammit. I'll spend Valentine's day giving my brothers Math classes. I'm staying at my mom's tomorrow. Fuck it all. There's such a good prompt on
31_days for the 14th, and I'll have no inspiration to do it tonight. Phooey, I've been eying that prompt for weeks ;_;
I did, however, start the prompts I got for that crossover meme. So here's the first one, Laurus' suggestion:
The way the girl with the light golden hair was staring at him was making Sokka feel a bit awkward. It was like she was examining and looking through him like he was invisible, at the same time. Was that even possible?
"So, your name was..."
"Luna Lovegood, and you must be Sokka." Her voice sounded as dream-like as the look on her eyes. "Have you ever seen a dragon?"
"A dragon? No, why would I?"
"Your friend Aang told me your world has dragons! He showed me his flying bison, you know. He's a sweetheart and his tongue tickles."
"Ah, the good old Appa and his slobber. Still, our dragons are pretty much extinct now. Aang got to see a couple, but it was a really rare sighting. He was lucky to live to tell the tale."
"He told me he and his Firebending teacher danced with them. I wish I could dance with a dragon one day!" Luna's arms moved in a graceful yet ridiculous way.
"So they're not extinct in your world?" said Sokka, trying not to mock her.
"They're in danger of extinction. Too many wizards hunted for them, the poor creatures."
"Ah, our dragons went through that, I've heard. It was the Fire Nation, as usual."
"A whole country dedicated to fire?"
"To our dismay. I mean, some people are nice, but there are some fucked up ones trying to invade the other three nations."
"With fire?" Luna's eyes opened wide.
"Yeah, that's what I said two seconds ago!" Sokka tried not to hit his forehead with his palm. That girl almost made the traveling singers sound more rational.
"Then they must be using heliopaths."
"Helio-what?"
"Heliopaths. Tall flaming creatures that gallop across the ground burning everything in front of them. Our Ministry of Magic was breeding them, Daddy told me so... but now I'm not quite sure if that was true or not, but I'm still hoping it was."
"Huh. Nah, they don't have anything like that." Sokka suddenly smirked. "They do, however, have Azula who happens to be a psychopath that burns everything in front of her."
Luna burst into a lengthy fit of laughter; there were tears in her eyes and she could barely breathe. Never seen anyone giggling like that in his life, Sokka was torn between being concerned, thinking she was actually mad, or feeling proud. After all, such a reaction was almost like a standing ovation, and his bad jokes rarely get that welcoming between his friends and sister. That Luna girl couldn't be so bad if she could appreciate his concept of quality humor.
