Family? What IS that?
A-am I the only one kinda weirded out at the Exchange of Glares(tm)? I mean, yeah, I totally expect that from Touya in ANY incarnation. But why the hell is Syaoran Jr. glaring back? Kid, you're not your dad. You don't have to emulate every single gesture just because you're pretending to be a Syaoran.
Besides, you're just glaring at your interdimensional uncle. Did you also stare at Touya Kinomoto back at home, or is it only to THIS Touya because he glared at you and insulted you first? I'm seriously wondering if he disliked his actual uncle or something. What if, in CLAMP's mind, CCS!Touya was cold to his nephew because he's the splitting image of Teh Brat? Personally, I never saw him that petty in CCS.
Then again, Junior didn't even think that this boy was that world's version of his uncle, just like he didn't think about the king being his grandfather. He also doesn't think about the boy with the glasses being that world's uncle Yukito (you know, his mom's guardian's other self? Pretty hard to forget about that one.) Anyway, I really hope he does think that and CLAMP isn't showing it because it's redundant to do it with all the family, instead of the kid not actually caring about his mother's side of the family besides the dead grandmother. It shocks a little me how detached this little fella is to any relative apart from the ones who are mother figures.
You'd hope that the Kinomoto males could get more love from characters and the mangaka, since they're so awesome. Mind you, we probably won't even see King Fujitaka and Queen Nadeshiko spending time with Prince Touya. The poor guy only got one scene with King Clow, and it was just to talk about how OTP S/S is and shit. The more Clow country royalty they give us, the more I want to go back and read about the CCS!Kinomotos. At least Kurogane had a fluffy, loving familythat got killed off.
The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that everyone important in the CCS plot must've dropped and died before the lovechild was born. Rocks falling on Tomoeda, and only Sakura and Syaoran surviving, is the only way the TRC plot could've worked without Ohkawa raping their own fluffy characters. That would also explain why Junior isn't more marveled at his interdimensional family (besides Sakura because he's OMG SO PRETTY JUST LIKE MOMMY, that is).
BRB, rereading the Alabasta arc in One Piece. I feel like reading about good, noble desert royalty with no incest.

A mi me gustó el cap, la única sensación mala que me dejó fue al pensar en lo aburridamente mary-sueish que se vuelve Sakura-socute ;.;... ¿o era la otra Sakura? ¿Cual era la clon al final? No, wait...
Sigh.

Sob.

See, as much I dislike TRC and as much as I like the same side characters than you, this is where I put on my Writer Hat to say that sometimes it's simply that the plot is the priority. For example, it makes sense to me that the scenes between Clow and Touya were about S/S, because the story is about S/S. And I really can't imagine a reason to show Fujitaka and Nadeshiko spending time with Touya unless it advances the S/S plot, either.
But I love you for this: Rocks falling on Tomoeda, and only Sakura and Syaoran surviving, is the only way the TRC plot could've worked
XD I foresee a lot of CCS rereading in my future.

Wait, there's a PLOT? :O I thought it was a chain of planned-in-advance twists.
Nah, just kidding.
Maybe.I didn't mean I wanted them to have a scene, but at least share the same frame even as background. I don't even need a dialog, just... a feeling these peopleremember they had a son, toohad a resemblance of a family. It just feels a bit cold because we're used to the fluffy Kinomotos.ETA: gah, HTML hates me.
ETA2: one moar tiem x.x

And I can definitely agree with that. *nods* Sometimes just adding a little detail says a lot and doesn't interfere with anything else.

Well, calling someone "gaki" is pretty insulting, and it's just about the only thing Touya says to him? |D;;
I'm confused by Syaoran not recognizing anyone as well, but I think it's not farfetched to say he got all mad because of the way Touya looked at him and treated him.
