B-baby whale so cute *o*

Finally up to date with One Piece. Can't say a lot about the current arc besides "whoa!" at the last five chapters and so. About Thriller Bark, it was much fun and much epic and much anxiety. I really enjoyed it. (Also dude... did Zoro just pull a Doumeki...? Well, at least he's getting development as a character from that and that's great.)

Also, Brooke broke my heart T___T The flaaaaashbacks! Rumba pirates so cute.

By the way, I'm getting a digital camera for my birthday. Mom already bought it this afternoon.

I ought to catch up with One Piece too :( Waiting until October for volume 19 might actually kill me, since they've arrived at Alabasta and Vivi's being awesome and Baroque Works are about to move...

And is Water 7 as heartbreaking as people say? Because if it is, I might just say 'stuff it' and hit the scanlations.

Um, well, there are two sub-arcs there: Water 7 itself, which isn't that much on the emotional part because it's an intro to bigger things, and Ennis Lobby. They're probably referring to the Ennis Lobby part, which is filled with really epic fights and several fans think of it as the best arc yet in OP. I'll agree that it changes the Strawhats' situation as pirates a whole lot and some scenes are just so, so amazing. And there's the sobbing factor, too.

But being completely honest here, I disagree with the fandom in that it's the best for one reason: I thought the fights in EL dragged too much and a large part of it bored me so much I even skipped pages in epic battles. Might be just me, though. But since you ask about the emotional department, they are correct in that sense because IT DOES BREAK YOUR HEART. For two main reasons, although there are more. I won't spoil you on the first one (mind you, I was spoiled and still bawled for half an hour) because it's unbelievable; the second big deal is Robin's backstory. The other emotional parts, although not as strong as these, are because of the friendship/nakama theme.

I have to admit it is my favorite of the arcs (that and Arlong which it has a lot of similarities) not because of the fights but because of the character interaction. I like when the arcs directly focus on the Strawhats which Ennis Lobby did. And it has my favorite chapter with the boat...but I won't say more.

Oh, I do love that part of the arc, plus Robin's story and the whole Sogeking thing. I'm just saying that it's because of the fights annoying me I can't put it in my top three (1. Alabasta + Drum Island + Little Garden, 2. Thriller Bark, 3. Skypiea). And if I made a top five, Arlong Park would be before Ennis Lobby + Water 7. I believe I like arcs better because of individual plots before nakama interactions.

Wow, thanks :) Heartbreaking plots with a big twist are always a plus, so it looks like I'm hitting the scanlations! XD

LABOON!!!!! just had to say that

I think this current arc is going to be excellent. I always love when the government is involved and things are on a bigger scale. Of course I love the smaller side adventures too. :D

And the Luffy punch in 502 was one of the best moments ever for me.

FUCK YEAH LABOON!

To be honest, the world government parts in general bore me to tears. Besides, the discrimination and slavery left me such a bad taste in my mouth while I was reading it. I think I'll like the arc better when they get straight to business -whatever that is. So far it's reminding me too much of that island before Skypiea but in larger scale, and that one I also found boring (while the arc of Skipiea itself is one of my favorites). So I don't know what to expect of this arc yet; even though it's epic already, I need more than epicness to get into it like with Gurren Lagann LOL.

That punch WAS awesome!

Thriller Bark, it was much fun and much epic and much anxiety

That definitely sums that arc up, which was so crack and awesome- yet so tense at points as well. Definitely one of my favorite arcs.

It's quite the rollercoster, yup. I think that, so far, it might be my second favorite arc. And icon love!

You're completely right about the last five chapters of One Piece. So much happening right now, it's insane.

I never thought about the whole "Zoro pulling a Doumeki" thing, but you're kinda right. Eep. Who knows if anything is going to come of that though. Zoro tends to put his body through a lot of punishment. (Those ankle scars squick me out.)

I'm more shocked about the fact he recovered so well. I mean sure, he's always healed in a ridiculous fashion before, but that was supposed to be this ball of concentrated pain and death. But really, it was the fact it's a "secret" pact to avoid Luffy's punishment/wounds and the way he shrugs it off lately when asked, what gave me the strong Doumeki vibe.

(Not that Doumeki's pacts with Yuuko ARE that secret. The last one had Himawari knowing and also keeping the secret from Watanuki, just like Sanji in here. And Brooke. AND Robin.)

not to mention that Nakapan did the voice acting of Zoro and Doumeki LOL xDDD

Yup, that's also one thing that reminded me of at the time XD Well, at least when this comes out in the anime (or has it already?) he'll know how to sound already XDD;

Thriller Bark is quite long and I am so looking forward to it! Because he's born to be badass and awesome. Have you read after Thriller Bark. Oh lord, thats one helluva funny mini-arc XDDDD Thank god you're not reading spoilers though =)
