And we're free till October!

Done with that exam! I... have no idea how it went. Hopefully I didn't fail this time? It was pretty hard, as it was That Subject of The Impossible Final. Multiple choice, mostly. Didn't pick all true options? Deduction. Picked one that wasn't true? Deduction. Left the whole question blank? Deduction. So, bad if you answer, bad if you don't. I FUCKING HATE THIS PROFESSOR. It's my only obligatory course left to pass besides end-of-career project.

My biggest issue for graduation right now (besides that subject) are the extra credits. You need 24 to complete the pensum, and I have... 8.5. So I think I'll squeeze language courses these year as much as we can pay, because each one is 125€ I can. I may take three next semester if I can get a spot: an English one on my level -whichever it is-, the most basic of French, and the most basic of German. And before you ask about the chosen languages: NO, it's not because of Ushiwaka and/or Klavier Gavin! I picked those up because those plus Italian and Portuguese are the only ones you can choose. I've always liked French, and my mom has always thought German was an useful language. Each course is 3 credits each and lasts about a season.

By the way, could you guys tell me which ones of the good Tsubasa iconmakers have done at least one or two icons of/with Mokona (yeah, Soel), that you can recall? I'm happy [livejournal.com profile] jlarinda did awesome bases of him/her, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few pretty colored manga icons for my RP account.

Hmm I heard German and English or somewhat close (don't know from personal experience though). Spanish and French are definitely close (and I do know this from personal experience because I took both). Since you are already bilingual I bet you will be good at either. I do like French more then German though.

Well, it's just a basic course for extra credits, not formal learning. I doubt I'll get to know more than basic vocabulary and a couple of verbs.

Ojalá ;;

Yay for freedom! \o/

And yay for German, too. Don't let people scare you with the ZOMG GERMAN IS HAAAARD thing. Yeah, it's more complex than English, but it has grammar that actually makes sense. *loves German and shouldn't abandon it so much, really*

Well, it's just a baaaaaaaasic course for credits, not formal learning. It does intimidate me, though, but more because of pronunciation than grammar.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's a basic course then you have to worry even less about grammar. o/

I find German pronounciation easier than English, actually. But I guess that depends on the person.

You've been learning since you were little and have family that speaks it. I started learning/listening at English around... 5 or 6 years old. Different experiences, more like.

On the meantime, I'm not at all familiar with German, and TV shows and movies I've seen sound kind of guttural and I can't fathom how to make those sounds and not sounding all forced.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
... yeah, good point. I didn't start with English until I was already 10 or so. But still, if it's a basic course you shouldn't worry too much. ^_^

It still scares me that the level could be too high for me, however. Or everyone in there has more knowledge in the language than me and I'm the ignorant one or something. Or God forbids, the whole thing is in pure German.

I mean, it shouldn't be like that if it's the easiest level, but it's still a course in an university in Galicia. They kind of don't follow Earth logic sometimes.

If anything happens, you have us to poke :o We're pokeable.

And um, about the pronuntiation... English is more like, fluid as well. French pronunciation is harder that German's, especially because they have 16/17 vowels :D;

Oh, and the guttural thing is not a general German thing. I have teachers that sound very soft-like and don't speak guttural at all :o

German pronounciation is constant, however. I was in your same situation and I find it a lot easier than English.
Also: I find it ... softer than English and Spanish actually. Closer to French. Well, except for Swiss people. They sound really strange.

You. And [livejournal.com profile] winnar.

There aren't many icons of her 8/ And it's specially hard to find them 'cause she's usually with someone else, so she's usually not listed.

I don't count as I'm not even a good iconist anymore DX And as a matter of fact I've made too little icons of her and they're pretty much unusable for RP -over half of them were for Christmas or Halloween. Sadness.

I'm fine with icons where she's not alone: more like it's a bit better because you already know Mansión's style and it works when she'll be crawling on people's clothes or being abused by Kurogane or action stuff like that XD But anyway, I've checked [livejournal.com profile] winnar and practically all iconmakers you have icons of Tsubasa from 8D If you do remember somebody else do let me know ^^

And thanks for the bases! ♥

NP! I like helping out with icons |D; [livejournal.com profile] someicons, I think? And [livejournal.com profile] tasteofblame :D

You could always crop the billions of colored pics there are of her, too. Those'd at least look more fancy.

Bueno, aún no sé si conseguiré matrícula así que tampoco contar los pollos antes de nacer XD;

[identity profile] teniente-ross.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
