It's the German textbook, so...

Say what? *opens dictionary* *doesn't work* *babelfishes* "As one expresses: 18,95€?"? O_o

Anyway.

I think I'm still a tad worried about the course just by judging the textbook. I spent a good deal of yesterday with dictionary in hand, attempting to translate the first three pages. Which I could, only having problems with verbs like in the example above because y'know, those are just in main forms in dictionaries (good thing lots of phrases were put in "Sie", and the present "Sie" is the same). And the audio CD talks a bit too fast. I think I'm stressing out a bit over a basic course, but I'm scared the teacher might think we all know *some* German or only speaks in German or something like that. I want a good explanation! Maybe I'm overworrying and the book is just for exercises, and not an indication of what we'll see exactly.

I have learned a couple of words, though. Well, more than learning I'd say "learned to recognize them", as I doubt I can type those or even pronounce some of them.

I think I should go through my own self learning crusade of laziness just in case. At least for sounds and grammar. So, links for myself:

Y eeeeeespero que no, que alemán no es un idioma del cual sea probable que 'sepas algo' a diferencia del inglés. SO, BASICS, hopefully. Ya nos contarás.

TIP: mejor busca cursillos en español? Luego no vaya a ser que te confundas con cómo llaman las cosas en inglés y en español. Aaaademás que el approach probablemente es diferente ya que inglés-alemán = hermanos y español=alemán sólo con primos como que muy lejanos.

A-Ah, sry, es la costumbre de trabajarlo ya todo en la máquina :D; Pero el Canoo tiene ramificaciones de cómo se forman palabras derivadas y eso. Y conjugaciones. Para eso es bien útil :D

¿... yo creo que nunca tuve un libro de idiomas con partes en español? o.O No sólo en alemán, en inglés también. Hasta los más básicos y para primaria y todo ya venían completos en el idioma extranjero. No sé cómo será el libro ni el método que van allá, pero no creo que necesariamente signifique que van a asumir que ya saben algo o que en la clase les van a hablar todo en alemán.

... o sea, lo que quise decir es que aunque el libro esté todo en alemán puede ser de nivel super básico y que no necesiten saber nada del idioma antes de empezar. Pero tengo el cerebro frito. DX
