THE ANONYMITY
MEME PT DEUX
My thoughts on FMA tomorrow when the translation is done. My little heart is all "oh, Hohenheim ♥" at the moment, nonetheless.
To be considered: I had previously spoiled myself to death thanks to Wiki. But don't mind me, because I tend to spoil myself every videogame ever.And I still cried during Okami, dammit Issun!
The anime is looking fine so far. I'm up to date with the manga translations, and the anime plot was pretty much the same. But something interesting was that the manga, for some reason, was making me sleepy when I read it. Maybe the transition to animation made it better as I didn't feel bored while watching it even though I was familiar with the story. I hate being the kind of person who can't enjoy something without pretty colors and sounds, and apparently with TotA it was just what I needed.
And as the impatient little squirrel that I am, I looked further on Youtube and found an user (KaddyGamer, I think was their name) who uploaded their entire playthrough of Abyss. That's the next best thing to playing it myself, which I cannot, right? So in the last week I've been watching the game and I'm up to the part with the haircut. That's 50 vids (8-10 minutes each in average).
Oh, jeez, bratty Luke. There's something hilarious about him in this I-want-to-bang-my-head-against-a-fonstone way. I laugh because... that's probably the sanest thing to do. And yet, he doesn't get that bad to me until Van puts the "be a hero!!1" idea on his head. THEN I did want to hit him in the balls, when before it was just a soft, silly slap with a fish. But hey, the worst part is over. I'm looking forward to see how he changes from now on. (Start treating Mieu better, dude!)
I really hope anime!Tear isn't this moe all the time, because I'm digging her so far in the game and manga. I expect the next weeks to have more snark directed at Luke because that's one of my favorite things. The blush with bubbly pink background was hilarious, I'll give you that.
Jade is an interesting case. I was seriously expecting to dislike him or not care for him because of the creepy Kyouya/Kristoph vibes, and because he didn't impress me in the manga. But as I kept watching the game, I kept being amused at his sarcastic comments and general smartass crypticness. And suddenly, I realized he was my favorite party member! I don't know, either.
Guy still doesn't impress me, perhaps something in him doesn't click with me or the forced ~mysterious~ air when he talks about himself -I do LOL when he walks away in fear like a crab. I was sort of liking Natalia in the manga and anime, but for some reason in the game I'm not that fond -might be the bitchiness, might be how awkward she acted around Asch-; I hope we see more of her and my opinion can change. I'm also hoping Anise tones down the material-girl flirting soon because I like her when she's not doing that. Ion is pretty much there, but it's good to have someone zen around, I suppose.
Too early to say anything about the God Generals. Perhaps I'll download the manga sidestories with them?
