I love the fluffy randomness of One Piece's color spreads. And now I'm curious about watermelon bananas, yet they do not exist ;_;

And people say this series' art isn't good? But it's adorable! And some spreads have cooler clothes than Bleach for me.

Sí, bueno, a mí también me molestaba el diseño de personajes al principio, pero te acostumbras y hasta acaba gustándote que no se vea nada como otros shounen. Pero he visto más de uno que va y dice ARTE en general.

I can also proceed with my thoughts on art, the short version of which is: if the story is well told, I don't care if the drawings are fugly and/or you can tell apart the characters only because of their hair. But I do know there are people who are highly visual and to them it doesn't matter if the plot is dull and predictable and the characters are flat and unlikable, because the perspective and the proportions are correct.
Even shorter: there are people for everything and neither ppoint of view is better, it's just a matter of preferences. o/

But why does it have to have a OMGdropdeadgorgeous art to be considered good art? I mean, Picasso is still considered fine arts, and most of his paintings are pretty much ugly as fuck. I actually think Yazawa's art is not pretty at all, as a matter of fact (t-the eyes D:). Nor I find KHR's art that special even if everyone creams their panties over it.

it depends how u call it good or best or worst art. Honestly, Art is such wide and you cannot define it because it depends on personal perspective ^^, I mean for me One Piece is not OMGSOGOOD but hey, its how the art and story goes. I don't know how to say it, but their art is so raw that is good (for me anyway). Yazawa, well I don't like the eyes, but I LOVE the clothes xD I was really amazed though, I must admit. ^^;;

I don't know if I would say One Piece art is the best but it is creative and unique so you have to give it loads of credit for that.

"The best art" is something subjective. But it's adorable and quirky, and I don't see why it must be thought as ugly just because some character design is unusual. That's refreshing.

And also, it's good there can be shounen manga where the characters aren't always posing like they're in a fashion magazine ad *cough*KuboTite*cough*. You CAN tell it's an adventure manga just by looking at the diversity of the illustrations.

And they said that because they prefer omg estilized cute bishies with big sparkly eyes. Not that I got anything against them, but when it comes to One Piece I get defensive, so I just keep my mouth shut.

I can understand because I was reluctant at the beginning, but it says something that I still read this one and coo/fangirl over the images, while I've dropped other shounen manga with over half of the cast being bishounen/bishoujo.

Besides, character design isn't the only aspect about art. The backgrounds, ships, animals, fights, they're all pretty well done.

omg I love the art of One Piece. It's one of the few manga series that I would still read right now if I wasn't so lazy. I have the color walk book though and I look at it whenever I'm sad because the art is so awesome and makes me happy.

Actually, I look more for coherence. For example, PAradise Kiss told with One Piece art would be... weird. And Yazawa doing One Piece would look quite ridiculous too.
That said, is One Piece easily downloadble somewhere? Because my brother has some One Piece games and now I want to read it but... 520.
