The En pair are definitely my favorites too, haha. But I agree that it's hard picking favorites among such a cast of awesome character.

I write genfic! XD Well, sort of. It's like... friendship/genfic with a touch of shipping if you want to see it that way, lol. But finding OTHER genfic is difficult.

... Okami/12K crossover would be the most hilarious thing ever. Okami would be BFFs with the kirin.

I have this long pile of fanfic to read that goes for months and months, but if I ever remember and I'm on a 12K kick I'll go check your fics ^^

I honestly believe you can crossover anything remotely mythological or supernatural with Okami. See the kirins' confused faces when Amaterasu tries to give them food (from the deer/horses feedbag, to add to the injury) in a dog bowl.

TRC/HOLiC are the most crossover-compliant fandom ever. I actually wrote TRC/Okami for a friend, but in Spanish -it was set in Kurogane's world and post-game. But really, it could work in almost any world.

b. The lamest thing about the canon: I don't really dislike something that strongly. I actually think that the plotholes (i.e, Schrodinger's Jet, Ursa's whereabouts) are fine so it doesn't all end so neatly. And the canon couples are sort of underdeveloped, true, but after HP I don't mind.
