Things I've learned about Atlus and me...
...after reading/watching a Let's Play of Persona 3 during a couple of slow days. Unpopular opinions 'R us!
1. I'm only willing to go through playing an ATLUS game, especially a turn-based SMT one, if and only if the plot interests me somehow.
1.1. P3's plot didn't, incidentally.
1.1.1. After finishing the LP, it still doesn't. I... I feel like I should apologize.
1.2. But hell if I'm not finishing P4 as soon as I can! I like it enough to go through it, and I'm already used to it.
1.2.1. I guess I do like crime mysteries and happier tones better. Am I weird?
2. I'm fine with blank, silent protagonists, after years of playing Zelda-like stuff.
2.1. And yet, Minato creeps me out for unknown reasons.
2.2. Souji's cool, though.
2.3. And yet, my most favorite silent protagonist ever is a *wolf*.
3. Besides plot, and in any RPG game in general, party characters are important to me. I must like at least half of them.
3.1. By the end of Tales of the Abyss, I ended up liking them all.
3.2. I love the P4 party. All of them, even. I want to have friends like them.
3.3. I was left, however, indifferent to every P3 party member. Yes, they look cool, but sorry. I couldn't click with anyone. The doggy was cute, though.
4. Nonetheless, I did have a favorite character in that mess. Someone shoot me now. /badumpsh
4.1. What on Earth does it say about me that I love Teddie in P4 and Ryoji in P3? I'm beginning to think I have some serious issues. Or that I'm now fascinated by originally dark beings who gain some humanityand then proceed to flirt around lolwhut.
4.2. No, self, you're not playing a game for a guy who's only around for a month or so. Yes, counting him as Pharos, too; it's still a month in-game.
4.2.1. Seriously, Minato, it's been a couple of days since your creepy shota imaginary friend disappeared, and there's a mystery transfer student with the same mole under his left eye. Seriously!!
5. The music in P3 is catchier than in P4. And that's saying a lot. Baby baby nananananananana.
Tomorrow I'll make a real post, I hope.
