taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Issun / size doesn't matter)

I so do not want, and yet I'll be playing it

Well, shit.

I fail to understand why there's someone humanoid (Susano's son, is it?) riding Amaterasu (is it even Amaterasu?). What's wrong about Ammy doing her own thing? She's not a freaking horse. Granted, she had Issun on her, but Issun is tiny and The Navi so there's a reason.

Also. If it's indeed Susano's son, this might reek of nextgen sequel crap. Hell, I'd even prefer a sequel with one of Issun's descendants; while it's still nextgen bullshit, at least you can't go wrong with poncles. She does seem to favor them, to begin with. But nevermind that, of course I'm nitpicking the plot even before knowing if it's indeed a sequel.

...Why do I feel I'll be playing this in an emulator as soon as it comes out?

I'm also a bad person because I much prefer this to be for NDS. I could import it if it comes out in English, and not waiting ages to see if it's even brought to Europe. And seriously, I wouldn't be buying a goddamn PS3 for one game.

Let's be optimistic and think that that's really a Poncle riding on a tiny-wolf-that-isn't-Amaterasu...surrounded by miniature canyons and cherry blossom trees.

The graphics look very good, though, considering that these are the very first screencaps.

I-I wish it were, but that red sword/glaive is on the guy's back instead of Amaterasu. Poncles use brush-swords. It looks like something Susano would wield, hence his kid would make the most sense. *fails at pretend fun times ;;*

It should look rough in the edges in the final product, like the usual 3D-yet-cellshading NDS game. The Phantom Hourglass cutscenes were so chunky.

At times I ask myself, "What would Zelos do?" And then I immediately regret it.

More honestly, the story might be about how Susano's son wants to become a mighty warrior, and how Amaterasu grudgingly helps him out.

I've never played Phantom Hourglass, but I have watched the trailers for Soul TrainSpirit Tracks, and I was less than impressed. :/

It looks like it's very likely. *sigh* A pity, because form the two images of him he kind of seemed like a huge brat. And not even a likable brat like Issun. Man, what I want to know in a sequel is how the Celestial Plain is doing, not some kid we never met :|

About that level and Spirit Tracks is probably using a recycled engine, yup. What worries me is that PH is a sequel of The Wind Waker, which is another cutesy, quirky cel shading game, and it looked painfully polygonal in comparison. This is why I'm almost sure Okamiden can't be that much better.
